This page of the site gives advice and information about exam concessions for public exams. There is a list of educational psychologists you can approach privately for an assessment of special needs. 
  
  QAA - Codes of Practice
On this page of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, you can read the codes of practice recommended for universities and colleges. Each university will have separate arrangements for exam concessions.

This is a page that provides links to all the major examining boards the exist in the UK. Click on a link to go straight to the website. Dead simple but very useful.

This is a private tutoring online service that operates throughout England, Scotland and Wales. It appears to be very comprehensive for a wide range of subjects and levels, but you need to try out tutor if you want to see if it works for you.

This organisation supplies private tutors for home tuition at all levels from primary through secondary including exam tuition, throughout the UK. Suitability is checked and character references sought.

This page is a guide to dealing with exams, for parents and students. It is straightforward and sensible and gives different advice for each educational level. 
  
  Mantex
This site offers quite a lot of free stuff as well as stuff to buy. Click on ‘downloads’ to find a lot of material related to study skills. 
  
  Mind Tools - Study Skills
This site gives some great free information about study skills and learning. It also gives links to related websites and recommends books on study skills with a direct link to amazon. 
  
Overcome stress
  Channel 4 – Stress
This is the stress magazine from Channel 4. There are sections on exams and on stress and young people as well as general facts and tips. Nicely presented and easy to access. 
  
  Mind Tools – Stress
This is an amazingly thorough free resources about stress. It is arranged in a large number of sub-headings that you can click on to get to a handy, easy to digest piece of information. Very useful. 
  
  Oxford Brookes – Health
These are the pages from Oxford Brookes University relating to student health and well-being. Click on the link to the left ‘managing exam anxiety and panic’ for some good ideas about dealing with exams. 
  
  University of Cambridge – Counselling
This site gives some interesting and useful downloadable leaflets on a number of topics such as concentration, coping with exams and procrastination, as well as anxiety and panic. Useful self-help material. 
  
Purchase books and study guides

This site offers a free service to allow you to compare the prices of books, DVDs, Videos and music, including the postage charge. A hugely useful way of finding out if you are getting the best deal. 
  
  ABE Books
This highly recommended site is a fantastic place to find second hand, rare and out of print books from thousands of dealers all over the world. An excellent place to buy books. 
  
  Amazon
Amazon has now become more than just a cheap online book dealer, it now sells a huge range pf products and is generally reliable and quick to deliver. One of the best shops for sheer choice but not always the best for price. Always worth a look. 
  
  Book Brain
This site provides a comparison of prices of books from a wide range of online bookshops, so you are likely to get a bargain every time you buy. If you visit any of these dealers through one of the links provided, a percentage of sales goes to charity. 
  
  CGP Books
CGP produce an extensive range of good quality revision texts for all Key Stages + GCSE and A Levels. You can order online. 
  
  Letts - Education
This page for parents and students guides you to Letts books to support education at pre-school level right through the different key stages, including a couple of higher education topics. 
  
  Oxford University Press – Education
This site takes you straight to good quality educational books under the headings of different age groups and key stages, as far as further education. There is also a section for international education. 
  
Revise online
  A-Levels
Links to online resources for the majority of A-Level courses. The site is easy to use and there are descriptions of each link to help you find relevant information as quickly as possible. Not as comprehensive as some but still well worth checking out. 
  
  BBC – Learning
Lots of learning resources for different educational levels, plus a revision section with mini-tests to check your learning progress. Handy for pupils and their parents. 
  
  Education Guardian - Directories
This is a really good page that gives details of the best places to find educational resources on the web. There are so many educational sites out there that this site can help you to save loads of time and effort when trying to root out information. 
  
  Learn
This is a terrific site from the Guardian. It is full of resources for home learning on a large range of subjects. A good companion to your revision notes. 
  
  National Grid for Learning
This is a government sponsored site that provides a network of selected links to web sites that offer high quality content and information. It does provide links to some excellent sites but there may not be quite as many as you would think. 
  
  School Zone
Access to over 40,000 free educational resources, all of which have been reviewed by teachers. There is loads to find here but the site is generally easy enough to use and can be very useful for most subjects. 
  
  Topmarks
A comprehensive site for students in the UK, covering a very wide range of subjects. Simply select a subject and age range and any extra keywords and this site will provide you with a variety of relevant online resources. 
  
  Westminster Council – Web Sites
This is an amazing resource. There is an a-z listing of subjects that contain useful and informative Internet sites, developed and maintained by professional staff in Westminster Libraries. Try it.
