Check league tables
	DFES Performance Tables Here you can find the latest official performance tables for schools and colleges in the UK. There is also information about a number of other national measurements and details of how you can order a paper copy for yourself.
	OFSTED Education Watchdog - the people who do school inspections. If you want to find out about a school's performance, this is the primary resource.
Contact your LEA
	DfES - LEA Contact Details Use this service from the Department for Education and Skills to find the details of your Local Education Authority. You can either type in a search, see a full list or browse alphabetically.
	Tagish - Local councils directory Local councils are responsible for most facilities and services in your area. Use this excellent site to visit the website of your local council and find out about all the services that they offer or to contact a local council member or committee.
Find a new school
	School Search Speedy access to information to about schools throughout the UK. You can quickly and easily get an overview of how each school stands in the league tables, and get their Ofsted report.
	Schoolsnet - School Guide This guide to UK schools offers you the chance to find out about any of the schools in the UK, including details of OFSTED reports, exam results and access to each of the schools websites. Particularly useful for finding the best schools in an area.
	UK Boarding Schools Directory A directory of boarding schools in the UK with a useful search facility and a number of educational links and access to online resources concerning boarding.
Get support for special educational needs
	Ability Hub This site gives information about assistive technology for people with a disability who find operating a computer difficult or impossible. This web site will direct you to adaptive equipment and alternative methods available for accessing computers.
	Ability Net This site gives lots of free information and advice on adapting and using computers if you have a disability. There is also information about its many other advice, assessment, training and consultancy services.
	DFES - Support This part of the Department for Education and Skills site contains information about financial support for students with disabilities.
	IPSEA This is the site of the Independent Panel for Special Educational Advice. This site is full of very useful information for parents of children with special educational needs, about getting support in the education system.
	Skill This is the website of the national bureau for students with disabilities. They promote opportunities and support for young people and adults (and their families) with any kind of disability in post-16 education, training and employment across the UK.
Know your children's rights
	Advisory Centre for Education The ACE is an organisation that offers advice and information to parents on a number of state education issues such as exclusion, bullying, special educational needs and school admission appeals. A very valuable resource.
	ARCH This is a non profit making organisation that is dedicated to promoting the child's rights to have their views on education heard under the UN convention on the rights of the child. Contains information about education and some good links.
	Right Online This is an excellent section of the Save the Children website that clearly details what rights children (anyone under 18) have according to the United Nations convention on the rights of the child. Informative, straightforward and easy to understand.
