Contact a support group
	Divorce Recovery Workshop The DRW is a course that can help an individual to come to terms with the various aspects of divorce. This site provides listings of local DRW groups across the UK along with the contact details for each one.
	Home Start An organisation that offers support in the home to families experiencing stress and with a least one child under the age of 5. There are hundreds of schemes across the country and families can refer themselves. Good for getting through a difficult patch.
	On Divorce This easy to navigate, independent site is packed with information, legal advice, articles and internet links, plus a chat room and e-friends facilities. A very good divorce resource.
Find a self help group
	Barnados This site has the most comprehensive list of useful Internet links covering issues such as adoption and fostering, disability and special educational needs, children’s rights and web safety, and much more. A good starting point for finding what you want.
	Patient - Self Help Groups Excellent listing of internet links to many self-help groups and organisations in the UK. There are many different categories available, all of which contain links to a number of the best support resources for that particular problem.
	UK Self Help A massive directory providing details of and links to hundreds of self help groups. They are organised alphabetically according to the issue that they are concerned with which makes it easier to see if a group exists or if you don’t know the exact name.
Get counselling
	BACP This is the national body that accredits counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK. From the home page you can click to the database for finding a counsellor in your area. Descriptions of counsellors include any ‘specialisms.’
	Childline ChildLine is the free, 24-hour helpline for children and young people in the UK. Advice and support about a wide range of issues from abuse and bullying to stepfamilies and stress.
	Couple Counselling Scotland This is the Scottish relationship guidance organisation that provides a confidential counselling service for people in marriage and other intimate personal relationships. You can use the site to find local services or just to find out more about it.
	Relate The most well known and experienced relationship counselling service in the UK. You can use a simple postcode search to locate your nearest branch and find out about the services that they offer.
	The Samaritans Possibly the best known telephone helpline. Click on the words in bold on this page to find out how to ring Samaritans, how to contact and visit your local branch to talk to someone in person, how to text them and how to email.
