	UCI Cinemas The main UCI site lets you know what's on at their cinemas around Britain and offers news and reviews of all the major releases. It also provides the number which you can call to book tickets 24 hours a day.
	Warner Village The Warner site allows you to find out what and when films are on at any of their cinemas across the UK. You can then book tickets online for any specific showing.
Book a sports ticket
	Access Tickets Access Tickets is a specialist ticket agency based in London. They are able to offer a huge range of tickets for all sorts of major sporting events. They specialise in hard to find tickets and this may be reflected in the price.
	Ticket Finders Ticket finders are an excellent source of tickets for all sorts of events, both inside the UK and internationally. Most major sports are covered, as are rock concerts and other special one off events from all over the world. Definitely worth a look.

	What's on When - Opera As it's name suggests, this site is excellent for finding out what's on and where. This is their Opera listings page, organised clearly by city. Searching is easy and you can also access the rest of this great site form here.

	Artists Direct This site has information about over 100,000 artists and bands. Its easy to search for bands, tours, record companies and venues and the site also includes news stories and information about upcoming events. This is a great site.
	Artsworld This is the website of the Artsworld channel available on satellite and digital networks. You can access a wealth of information about current arts events and they have a good events guide to help you see what's on in your area.
	Bigmouth One of the biggest live music guides on the Internet in the UK. Bigmouth provides details of what and where a huge number of bands and artists are playing, in both the UK and Europe. You can purchase tickets and see the latest news on various tours.
	Chortle This is the UK's best internet guide to comedy entertainment. Search for London and UK listings. Browse news and features, join chat rooms and subscribe for weekly emails.
	Ents 24 One of the most comprehensive guides to live entertainment in the UK. Contains sections covering clubs, cinema, live music, comedy and theatre. The site is easy to use and regularly updated.
	KidsNet This site collects together all kinds of attractions, with information on how to get there, and how much it will cost to get in. this is one of the biggest family oriented listings websites and is well worth a look if you need ideas for a day out.
	Scoot Cinema Guide This is one of the best online tools for finding your local cinema and seeing what's on. It offers all the information you need in a clear and concise way, including directions to the cinema! Brief reviews of each film are also available.
	UK Theatre Web UK Theatre Web has listings available for a wide variety of shows, including operas, plays, pantos, musicals and concerts. There are tickets available online for many of the major shows and contact details for purchasing tickets for the others.
	What's on When What's on When is a site that provides listings of a huge range of events that are happening all over the world. You can search in a number of ways including by location, type of event and date. The listings include both national and international events.
Get a map and plan your route
	Multimap This mapping website allows you to find a street map of anywhere in Britain based on postcode information. The maps can viewed at a number of different scales and travel directions are provided. This site also includes aerial photos and local information.
	Streetmap Simply enter a postcode or location and this no-frills site will quickly provide you with an accurate and clear street map of the local area. You can zoom in or out and move around the area with a click of the mouse on the screen.
	The AA - Route Planner The AA route finder allows you to plan a road journey between any UK destinations via anywhere else. Routes can be chosen for caravan/trailer suitability. Maps are provided and you are told what to look for on road signs on the way as are service stops.
	The RAC - Route Planner The RAC route planning provides the option of fastest or shortest journey and has an option of long or short descriptions of the directions. It provides a map of the journey and detailed directions, and the route is reversible for the return journey.

	Childcare Link This site is a fantastic and comprehensive resource for anyone searching for good local childcare. You can search for childcare providers by postcode and a variety of childcare options are given. They also provide good advice about finding quality care.
	Daycare Trust The Daycare trust is the national childcare charity, promoting quality, affordable childcare for everyone. This is an informative site with lots of useful advice and information covering issues such as choosing and paying for care. A very good site.
	Sitters A site that aims to put you in touch with professionally qualified and thoroughly vetted child minders in your area. They don’t yet cover the entire country but it' simple to find out if they operate in your town and if they do, it is a valuable service.
Organise transport
	Public Transport Information The BEST and most comprehensive public transport website in Britain. It covers rail, bus, air, coach, ferry, metro and tram travel in the UK and from here to Europe. It contains ticket information, timetables and passenger facility information. Excellent.
	Railtrack The official Railtrack site allows you to access train time information for journeys all over the UK. Despite the problems that Railtrack have had recently, the information on the website remains accurate and easy to find. A very useful site.
	The Trainline The Trainline is a good place to book rail travel all over the country. You can plan any journey and book it there and then. You have to register for use of the site but this is an easy process and well worth it for the service they offer.
