  Bicycle Apparel
Although all of the shopping links in this site are for American stores, there is some extremely useful advice on buying clothing for cycling in. Information on sizing, fit function and fabric is invaluable when purchasing such kit. 
  
  Bike Explorer
A relatively useful site that can be a little too American to be of use to the UK bike rider. However, it does contain some very useful links and is worth a look for finding bike resources on the web. 
  
  Bike Freakz - Links
A list of links to the websites of loads of major manufacturers of bikes and components (mostly for mountain bikes) along with the contact email address for the UK importers. Excellent time saving links. 
  
  Biking UK - Dealers
This mountain biking site offers a listing of dealers across the UK ordered by location and links to their websites if they have one. Although there is often only one bike shop per town listed, it is usually one of the best shops in its area. 
  
  COBR
The consortium of bicycle retailers is a 'marketing organisation that promotes cycling, the standards of a group of retailer members and quality brands and services directly to you the cyclist'. Includes shopping online and speciality products. 
  
  Cycle Source
This site is run by the Association of Cycle Traders and contains contact details for over a thousand independent cycle shops in the UK. Shops affiliated to the ACT are generally some of the best around and are well worth a visit. 
  
  Cycleweb
This is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to purchase anything related to cycling. It contains a huge list of all the bike shops in Britain organised by region and county. It also lists online shops and provides loads of cycling information. 
  
  Singletrack - Shopping
This part of the well known singletrack site is an excellent place to buy all sorts of mountain biking equipment and clothing, all purchasable online.

  Bike Zone
Great road cycling magazine site with up to date news and results. A neat and easy to use site. 
  
  Cyclists
This is a great site aimed at British cyclists. It contains loads of its own news and information but it also contains a huge number of links to other resources. These include magazines, manufacturers, retailers and other bike related web sites. 
  
  Ken Kifer's Bike Pages
A cycling page written by an obvious cycling enthusiast that exists purely to share his love of the sport with others and encourage others to join in. Well written, often humorous and with loads of relevant links and interesting articles. 
  
  MTBR
An excellent site that will not only tell you the best bike to buy, but also the best place to ride it - you may never need to buy another mountain biking magazine ever again. Contains thousands of rider reviews of virtually any parts on the market. 
  
  WH Smith
WH Smith are responsible for selling a massive number of magazines and books in the UK and their website is a good place to buy them online, in addition to a range of music, films and games. Particularly good for magazines. 
  
Find a street map and get directions
  Easy Map
A fantastic site for obtaining a map based on address information. Simply type in the details of the address and press go. The site will then generate a map pinpointing the exact location. This map can be emailed to someone or printed for reference. 
  
  Multimap
This mapping website allows you to find a street map of anywhere in Britain based on postcode information. The maps can viewed at a number of different scales and travel directions are provided. This site also includes aerial photos and local information. 
  
  Streetmap
Simply enter a postcode or location and this no-frills site will quickly provide you with an accurate and clear street map of the local area. You can zoom in or out and move around the area with a click of the mouse on the screen. 
  
Get a countryside map
  Ordnance Survey
The ordnance survey site allows you to obtain any of the maps that they produce, either on the phone or online. Many maps are also available to download for personal or business use and can be tailored to a very specific area. 
  
  Ramblers Association - Maps
This is another excellent and informative area of the Rambler's Association website. It contains loads of information about maps and where to buy them as well as explaining how to interpret and use them effectively.

  Gymuser
This site contains a comprehensive directory of UK health and fitness clubs. It also provides reviews of the major chain clubs, advice on membership, job opportunities and fitness equipment shopping links. 
  
  Netfit - Cycling
This series of weight training exercises is designed to allow greater performance levels in a variety of situations and can be varied to suit different types of cycling and different individuals.

  British Cycling Federation
The BCF site has links to clubs all over the UK as well as details of all the activities with which they are involved. The site is easy to navigate and is full of useful information. 
  
  Cyber Cyclery - Clubs
This part of the American site provides contact details for a huge number of cycling clubs and online resources for the UK cyclist. It can take a few seconds to load this page properly. 
  
  Cyclists Touring Club
The CTC is the only national body campaigning for cyclists’ rights, facilities, routes and representation in local, national government and other agencies. They offer a wide range of services to members ranging from insurance to route maps.

  Bike Tune
This is a simplistic but easy to follow site that covers all of the basics of bicycle repair and maintenance. 
  
  Haynes - Cycling
Haynes manuals are famous for their easy to follow car maintenance guides for cars. This section of their site provides you with the opportunity to purchase one of their cycle maintenance books that provide an excellent guide to most types of repairs. 
  
  iBike
This part of the ibike site contains a huge bibliography of books about bicycle maintenance and repair, many of which have a link direct to a shop from where you can actually purchase them online. 
  
Read the highway code

  The DTLR
The department for transport, local government and the regions site contains this online version of the highway code of Great Britain. It is broken down into sections for ease of reference and includes illustrations.
