	The Ramblers Association This is the homepage of The Ramblers Association. It has links to hostels and B+Bs in the UK and is possibly the only site you'll need to visit if you wish to find a local ramblers group. Also has loads of other useful links.
Get a countryside map
	Ordnance Survey The ordnance survey site allows you to obtain any of the maps that they produce, either on the phone or online. Many maps are also available to download for personal or business use and can be tailored to a very specific area.
	Ramblers Association - Maps This is another excellent and informative area of the Rambler's Association website. It contains loads of information about maps and where to buy them as well as explaining how to interpret and use them effectively.
Learn how to read a map
	Maps.com - Map Skills This section of the Maps.com site covers most areas of basic map skills and will help you to become a more competent map user. It covers map projections, types of maps, locations and the coordinate system, map scales and time zones.
	Navigation Skills This useful little site contains a large amount of information to help with most aspects of basic navigation, both with and without a compass. It also has loads of tips for leaving the minimum impact on the environment when travelling in the countryside.
	Ramblers Association - Navigation This is an excellent and informative page produced by the Ramblers Association. It covers all aspects of map reading and is easy to follow and very comprehensive.

	BugBog This site contains a huge list of links to the sites of most of the best known outdoor clothing and equipment manufacturers.
	Cotswold Outdoor Cotswold Outdoor was recently voted Best Outdoor Retailer by readers of outdoor magazine 'Trail'. It has a huge range of goods available online and some great discounted products are available.
	Gear Zone Gear zone is an online supplier of all kinds of outdoor equipment and clothing. You can purchase goods from many well known manufacturers and they offer free delivery in the UK, usually within 3 days.
	Millets Perhaps the best known high street camping and outdoors shop, Millets has an excellent selection of gear that will see you through the majority of camping trips. A good place to find basic kit and equipment for the less extreme trips at good prices.

	Travel Notes This is a useful page that rates the usefulness of all of the travel guides available and gives advice about the best way to use such guides. An excellent site that will help you to choose the guide that’s right for you.
