One of the first and one of the most popular ways to create and update a weblog. The blogger system is quick, easy and works pretty well. From here you can also read loads of other weblogs created using blogger's system.

This is a simple to use service that lets you set up your own weblog. A big part of this service is that other people can comment on anything you post in your blog and you in turn can comment on their comments. Top marks for encouraging interaction.

This is our own weblog, written in the small hours of the morning by our elusive weblogger 'J'. A good place to find some interesting links, news stories and thoughts. There's also an archive of older stuff to browse through.

This is a clever site that visits thousands of weblogs every day and takes a look at what stuff they’re linking too. It can then determine what links are the most popular and rank them accordingly. The result is this list of the most popular blog topics. 
  
  Blogging Brits
This site is the home of the Blogging Brits web ring. Click on the 'list' link and you will find the full list of all the weblogs in the ring and read a brief description of each one. There's loads of variety and some interesting stuff to read. 
  
  Daypop
This is a fantastic place to search for news and current events from a very wide range of sources. Daypop lets you seek out news stories from over 7500 different news sites and weblogs, meaning you get wide coverage from a number of good sources. 
  
  Gbloogle - Gblogs
Gblogs was a site that listed the best of British weblogs, and it recently shut down. Fortunately, Ben Hammersley saved the list and you can now find it here. Loads to choose from and some brilliant blogs. 
  
  Google Directory - Weblogs
This is a really good place to find links to all things related to weblogs. Everything from individual blogs to huge directories, blog creation tools and blog tracking sites can be found here, all arranged into useful categories. 
  
  The Guardian - Weblogs
The Guardian has been actively encouraging weblogging in the UK for a while now and this page of their site can tell you what a weblog is and point you in the direction of some of the best from the UK and the rest of the world, as well as their own.

This essay on the site 'Rebecca's Pocket' explains how weblogs came to be and shows how they have developed into the format and style that is so common these days. An interesting and informative piece.

This is a site run by the person behind one of the oldest weblogs on the internet today. You can read about the history of blogging over the last few years and read some excellent weblogs as they are updated.
