	CNN This is the most famous international news network and CNN covers a vast number of different aspects of the news on their website, making it a must for any online news hound. For an astonishing amount of news coverage, this is a great site.
	Daypop This is a fantastic place to search for news and current events from a very wide range of sources. Daypop lets you seek out news stories from over 7500 different news sites and weblogs, meaning you get wide coverage from a number of good sources.
	Google News Google's news service is now one of the best around, offering very wide coverage from a massive number of sources all over the world. Easy to use, very up to date and an excellent way to see how a variety of news organisations are reporting stories.
	Reuters Reuters is one of the major news services from which newspapers gather much of their breaking news. Their site is well presented and provides access to a massive amount of information in an uncluttered fashion. Particularly good for business news.
	Sky News All the latest headlines and stories from the Sky network. The site is easy to use and well presented with a number of different news categories to choose from. You can also listen to an audio version of the news and take part in interactive features.

	BBC News - Politics This is the UK politics section of the best news site in the UK. You can get all the latest news and analysis, take part in discussions, listen to the news online, get political gossip, read special features and access links to other BBC sites. Excellent.
	Central Office of Information The COI is responsible for organising the majority of the government's press and publicity. The most useful thing on their site is access to government press releases from departments agencies and other organisations, which can make interesting reading.
	Epolitix - News All the latest political headlines and news can be found on this excellent site. There are loads of well informed and clearly written stories to read through and each story is linked to other relevant materials. This is online political news at its best.
	The Cabinet Office This site is intended to provide fast and simple access to everything that the cabinet office publishes. It has information about the working of government, policy initiatives and the members of the cabinet as well as links to other government websites.

	BBC Radio This is the radio section of the huge BBC website. You can learn about all the programs, see what's on, listen online and take part in all sorts of interactive features. There is also news about presenters and upcoming programs as well as live web chats.
	BBC World Service This site truly is in a league of its own. You can access the news in 43 different languages and hear up to the minute news bulletins from all over the world. A great site for an international perspective on the day's stories.

	News Directory The News Directory is a comprehensive listing of the world's press websites. This part of the site contains links to the websites of Britain's major nationwide newspapers. From here you can also access the regional section of the News Directory.
	NISS - Online News Sources This is a good resource that lists some of the best places to find news from all over the world and gain access to hundreds of different newspapers. There is a description of each site to help you find the right information and the list is well organised.
	Online newspapers This site allows you to search through literally thousands of online newspapers from most of the countries of the world to find the one you wish to read or contact. An excellent resource.
	Paperboy This is a colourful and easy to use site that has a vast amount of links to papers from all over the world. There are obvious links straight to the best of the UK press but you can also search for papers by name or region and get to news sites and radio.
	The Financial Times This is probably one of the best financial news sites on the internet. The FT takes its online presence very seriously and it shows in this comprehensive and well made site. News is up to the minute, reliable and well written. An excellent site.
	The Guardian This is recognised as being one of the best online versions of Britain's mainstream newspapers. It is well designed and a pleasure to browse through. You can read the current issue as well as looking at the host of other sections of this great site.
	The Internet Public Library - Newspapers This part of the internet public library gives you access to newspapers online from virtually every country in the world. The links are organized by continent/country or in a title index.
Read news comments and analysis
	BBC Talking Point This is another fantastic aspect of the BBC news website. Everything from sport to fashion to politics is covered here as long as there are issues to discuss. You can contribute your own views and read the well written commentary of the experts.
	Foreign Wire This is a good place to get a slightly alternative view of world affairs. Foreign Wire manages to come up with some features and articles that rarely appear anywhere else and occasionally manages to show up a lack of knowledge in other commentators.
	Institute for War and Peace Reporting This site provides some excellent analysis of the world's conflicts and is a good way of cutting through much of the propaganda that exists in the news. This is an unbiased site that provides useful insights in what's going on where and why.
