  Environmental Campaigns - Links
Here you can find direct links to a well categorised list of important organisations involved in the environment and conservation. They range from political links to pressure groups and organisations covering a wide range of topics. 
  
  Friends of the Earth
The largest international network of environmental groups in the world. The Friends of the Earth site has information about all their current campaigns and contains details about how you can get involved or support the organisation. 
  
  Greenpeace
The Greenpeace website has information about the activities of the organisation, educational resources about the environment and conservation, news stories and details about how you can join up and take part in campaigns. An informative site. 
  
  The Water Ways Trust
Not a very exciting website but a genuinely good cause, they encourage public involvement in activities aimed at increasing awareness and involvement in Britain's network of waterways. Contains lots of useful information and links to other useful sites. 
  
  World Wildlife Fund
This is the global site of the WWF. It provides some excellent and persuasive information about all of the work that the organisation is involved in as well as details about how you can get involved and loads of news stories to keep you informed.

This American site provides basic, accessible information that can help you learn about the basic issues surrounding global climate change. These are split into six different categories and there are some useful links to some of the major organisations.

A massive international climate change portal. It has categorised links to many of the best resources on the internet and there is a search engine to help you find specific information. Also has regular news, features, links and a news archive. 
  
  Climate Hot Map
An interactive map illustrating the early indicators of global warming or climate change in different places around the world. It is brief but informative and there are links to all the organisation responsible for its production. 
  
  Heat is Online
An informative site about climate change and the actions and inactions) of organisations and governments around the world. It is regularly updated with relevant news stories and packed with well written articles and information. Well worth a visit. 
  
  One World - Climate Change Database
Access a huge database of articles about climate change from a network of almost 90 different sites and organisations from all over the world. You can use a keyword search to find specific information or look a specially selected content. 
  
  The Carbon Trader
This is a weekly climate change magazine that covers a range of major news stories related to environmental issues. Has some good links and is informative and well presented. 
  
  UK Climate Impacts Programme
The UKCIP was set up to help organisations to understand climate change in the UK and prepare for its potential impacts. It contains loads of information about current and predicted climate change in the UK and the effects that it will have. 
  
  UK Rivers Network - Climate Change Links
This is a good place to find links to a selection of some of the best climate change websites on the web. There are lots to choose from, but the list is split into categories to help you find the right type of information. 
  
  UN Environment Programme - FAQ
This site answers some of the most common questions about climate change. It explains the issues in a clear but detailed way and provides useful diagrams where necessary. A well organised and informative site.

Are you doing your bit? This government backed initiative has been set up to demonstrate how even the smallest actions can dramatically help improve bit the local; environment and the global situation. Well worth a read. 
  
  Earth Pulse
A well put together site crated by National Geographic that focuses on a wide number of conservation and environment issues. As is to be expected from this organisation, the content is of the site is well written and very informative. An excellent site. 
  
  Earth Trends
Although the first page of this site can take ages to load, it is worth the wait because it is packed with useful information. It provides country by country analysis of certain environmental factors and provides lots of data and maps. 
  
  Ecology.com
A good source of information about global conservation and ecology issues, scientific research and has gardening tips for environmentally conscious people everywhere. It is updated regularly and has some good coverage of current issues. 
  
  The Energy Saving Trust
Set up after the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, to help reduce CO2 emissions in the UK. The site is full of information about saving energy and can help you to find simple but effective ways to reduce your impact on the environment. 
  
  The Environment Agency
From here you can access a lot of the official government information about the environment. This includes statistical information about the current state of various aspects of Britain's environment and a loads of advice about how you can do your bit.

An American site that is full of links to web resources about endangered species the world over. It is obviously particularly good for learning about wildlife in the US but the international information is also very good.

A basic looking but good site that contains a lot of information about endangered species around the world. The site is organised into categories to make it easier to find the right information and has a section just for kids. 
  
  The Redlist of Threatened Species
This site provides comprehensive and detailed information about the endangered species of the world. The site has been created by the World Conservation Union and the amount of information available is immense. One of the definitive sources on the web. 
  
Recycle your waste
  Alu Pro
A nationwide organisation that deals specifically with recycling aluminium drinks cans and foil. Loads of information about how to go about organising your recycling efforts and how to go about getting cash for your old cans. 
  
  Lets Recycle
A very informative and well put together site that keeps you up to date with recycling and waste management issues from all over the country. A comprehensive guide to the recycling efforts underway in Britain. 
  
  SCRIB
The Steel Can Recycling Information Bureau website is a good source of information about recycling aimed primarily and children. There's lots to read and learn as well as information about how you can start to recycle steel and do your bit for the planet.

Simply tick what type of waste you want to recycle and fill in your postcode and this site finds the facilities you need and provides you with contact details for all the relevant authorities to find out more about schemes in your area.

A site dedicated to recycling and reducing the amount of waste in the UK. From here you can find information about buying recycled goods and recycling schemes and activities. Loads to look at and very informative.

This is a well written, concise but useful guide to the ethical shopping on the internet. It contains links within the article to all of the best sites to visit along with the reasons why. Makes shopping ethically a complete doddle and much more reliable.

Not a very attractive site but it has links to a number of large international petitions that you can sign online. Covers a wide range of environmental and conservation issues and includes an 'activists toolkit' to help you organise a campaign.

Create a petition online on pretty much anything you want. This site has a specific UK section but also has other global areas so you can reach people all over the world. You can get help with creating petitions and managing any petitions that you start.

A good site that lets you set up petitions with potentially unlimited reach, on almost any issue. You will get help managing any petitions that you create and you can read or sign any other petitions that exist on the site.
