The file Exclude.txt located in your Webcelerator folder contains a list of URLs to be handled in a special way. You can use Notepad or any text editor to edit or add to this list. The 'exclude.txt' is used to circumvent site-specific problems or to completely prevent a site from being displayed. A full list of option is listed below.

  • Enter one URL per line.
  • Do not include spaces within URLs.
  • Follow each URL with a space and one or more code letters to dictate its handling.
  • URLs with no following code letter will default to code "p".
Code Definition
a  Do not prefetch.
b  Do not prefetch or cache
p  Only show verified version.
v  Do not verify cached page. Assume cached page is current.
r  Do not reload verified page.
g  Use beep mode to signal changed page.
x  Don't beep. No need to signal a changed page.
d  Censor - do not display this page.
n  Do NOT allow cookies from this site. (Valid when "Enable Cookies" is ON.)
c  Allow cookies from this site. (Valid when "Enable Cookies" is OFF.)

Please note that these parameters are to DISABLE global features. They cannot add features that have not been set globally. Therefore you cannot cause an auto-reload when the global setting is beep mode, and you cannot cause either "Show and verify" setting when "Show and verify" is not selected globally.

Some of the URLs already contained in your Exclude.txt are advertising sites coded "ar" so that their advertisements will not be prefetched or reloaded. Others are business data sites with the default "p" setting so that only the verified version is displayed.
