Thank you for using

Download Helper manages your Internet downloads so that you can continue browsing and save the time-consuming parts for later. It features a convenient drop basket to hold all that you want to download. The drop basket icon is a separate button-sized icon that can be positioned onto your browser's toolbar. You can gather many download links, then begin the actual downloads later, whenever you wish. You can also have the downloads begin unobtrusively in the background at a rate that will not interfere with continued browsing. If your connection is interrupted, Download Helper can usually resume at that same point.

How do I use Download Helper?
To open Download Helper, go to your Start Menu Program, then to "Webcelerator," click on the first button in your Download Helper task bar, and enter the URL in the appropriate window. You can choose to download now or later.

How do I tell Download Helper to start downloading?
Maximize the Download Helper and click on the "Start Task" button (forward-pointing triangle) whenever you are ready. You may also pause and then restart the download. The pause button is shown by a pair of vertical parallel bars.

Can I decide not to download an item in my list?
Yes. Select the item from the Download Helper list and click on "Delete Task." The "Delete Task" button is marked with an "X." The up and down arrows can help you move through the list.

What else can be controlled and what are the general use defaults?
For each task you may specify which, if any, proxy you want to handle the download. You can also set the following default Options:

  • The HTTP and FTP default proxy settings.
  • Start recent active tasks after Download Helper runs.
  • Don't restart from the beginning if server doesn't allow downloading from arbitrary place.

For each of these, click "EDIT" on the Download Helper toolbar, then click "Options" on the drop-down menu, and then click on the appropriate tab.
