What's new in SL version 98?

The SL 98 Classic Edition has the core functionality of Save Layout. It saves your desktop icon layout - as easy as before. It does not, however, include any add-ons. Many users and administrators asked for a version with this streamlined functionality, here it is!

SL 98 is just one successor of v3.02. All features of v3.02 incarnated in applications now included in PACT Ghosts 98. They build on top of and enhance the functionality of the previous version, providing for a more stable, easier to use feature set:

Can I install SL 98 over v3.0?

Since SL 98 alone does not match every feature of v3.0, we recommend to either install SL 98 into a new folder or additionally install DeskTOP, Quicky, and Shutdown.

(Please note, when you uninstall v3.0 later, you need to run setup for SL 98 again! This is because uninstall 3.0 would also remove the association between '.sl' files and SL, which SL 98 still requires.)

 

When I uninstall, will my registration info be preserved?

No. When you uninstall SL, all SL program files, folders and registry entries will be removed. You would have to enter your license number again after reinstalling - please keep your product ID at a secure place.

   

Does SL provide a complete Uninstall?

Yes, SL can be completely uninstalled by selecting Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs. Or start Uninstall from the installation path.
