Moving Newsgroups to Different Directories
You can move a newsgroup or hierarchy of newsgroups to a different directory without losing articles. You can also move entire virtual directories or the home directory to another location.
Note The new location must be a Microsoft® Windows® NT Server disk partition formatted as Windows NT file system (NTFS).
To move a newsgroup or hierarchy of newsgroups:

Using Windows NT Explorer, move the newsgroup directories to the new location.

If the new location is not a subdirectory of an existing virtual directory or the home directory, create a new virtual directory in the new location.

When you rebuild Microsoft NNTP Service, select the Thorough option.
To move an entire virtual directory to a new location:

Using either Internet Service Manager or Internet Service Manager (HTML), stop Microsoft NNTP Service.

Using Windows NT Explorer, move the virtual directory hierarchy to the new location.

Using either Internet Service Manager or Internet Service Manager (HTML), select the virtual directory you want to move.

From the Action menu, choose Properties.

In the Virtual Directory property sheet, change the value of either Local path or Network directory to the new location.

Start Microsoft NNTP Service.
To move the entire home directory to a new location:

Using either Internet Service Manager or Internet Service Manager (HTML), stop Microsoft NNTP Service.

Using Windows NT Explorer, move the home directory hierarchy to the new location.

In either Internet Service Manager or Internet Service Manager (HTML), select the Home Directory property sheet.

Change the value of either Local path or Network directory to the new location.

Start Microsoft NNTP Service.
