Learning the Environment

You've probably never seen anything like the Splash! environment before. But don't be intimidated, what separates Splash! from the rest is its ease of use. We've abandoned a perhaps more familiar windows environment for a friendlier, more intuitive and easier interface.

    Introduction to the Toolbar

The box of buttons that floats over the canvas area is a quick way to access most of Splash!'s integral functions. To find out what each button does, hold the mouse cursor over each button and a descriptive tooltip will appear.

Sometimes options within the box will change as you perform different tasks. This means you need only concern yourself with a handful of buttons at any one time.

    Introduction to the Drop-down Menu

The menu is like the Contents page of a book, giving you access to all the major Splash! functions. It is broken into the following semantic headings:

      FILE
This is where you save and load your files.
      EDIT
Functions pertaining to editing the current document for example cut, paste.
      PAGE
Settings and details of your page can be found here.
      INSERT
Add the basic elements to your page, such as images or text.
      PROJECT
Here you can export your project as HTML or view a sitemap of your project.
      PLUGINS
Add advanced elements with ease using our plugins.
Expand this menu by downloading new plugins from our website.
      WINDOW
Affects the size and resolution of the editing area.
