Main Screen

DiskExplorer's main screen is structured as follows:

On top is the main menu and the navigation and link bar.

Next the current data area is displayed in the view that you choose.

Underneath the data area the cursor position is shown as sector:offset in hexadecimal and decimal format on the left side.
On the right side the current selection is displayed as sector:offset to sector:offset in hexadecimal format.

Drive specifies the loaded drive, floppy or file with its total number of sectors in decimal and hexadecimal format.

Beneath drive on the right side the accessible data window is shown in decimal format.

Path shows what area of the drive you are currently in and also the steps you can go back or forth by clicking the arrows on the navigation bar.

Region lets you switch between boot sector, partition table, MFT, MFT No. and cluster region: simply right-click while the mouse is over the text right of "Region".

Volume gives information such as the position of cluster 0, the cluster size, the type of the drive. To obtain more information on the volume, just click the underlined information line.

Memory features the memory currently in use.

View lets you see which view you are in. You can choose a different view by double-clicking the view icon.
Available views are: 
Hex view, Text view, Boot record view, Partition table view, Index allocation view , File entry view and File entry detail view

R/O, V/M or R/W displays whether you are in read only mode (R/O), virtual write mode (V/M) or in direct read/write mode (R/W). You can change the mode by double-clicking the icon.
