Find facts and statistics
	Global Change Master Directory A huge, comprehensive and extremely detailed directory of information about climate change from NASA. This site allows you to access a huge amount of data and much of it can be very scientific and in depth. Having said that, it is an amazing resource.
	Government Climate Change Statistics This is the place to find official government literature and statistics about climate change, global atmosphere, temperatures and the UK trading emissions scheme. It can be a bit long winded but it is very comprehensive.
	World Resources Institute - Facts & Figures This is an excellent source of facts and figures about climate change. You can find a wealth of information about specific areas of the globe or individual countries or look at global trends and find links to more facts. A very informative site.
Join or contact a conservation group
	BTCV BTCV are an organisation that arrange voluntary conservation work all over the country and occasionally internationally. They have offices in most areas of the country and you can either contact them or read about the opportunities here.
	Eco Volunteer An innovative site that aims to give conservation projects a chance to get the manpower they need, and nature enthusiasts the possibility to become more active. From here you can volunteer to be a part of environmental projects the world over.
	Environmental Campaigns - Links Here you can find direct links to a well categorised list of important organisations involved in the environment and conservation. They range from political links to pressure groups and organisations covering a wide range of topics.
	Friends of the Earth The largest international network of environmental groups in the world. The Friends of the Earth site has information about all their current campaigns and contains details about how you can get involved or support the organisation.
	Greenpeace The Greenpeace website has information about the activities of the organisation, educational resources about the environment and conservation, news stories and details about how you can join up and take part in campaigns. An informative site.
	World Wildlife Fund This is the global site of the WWF. It provides some excellent and persuasive information about all of the work that the organisation is involved in as well as details about how you can get involved and loads of news stories to keep you informed.
Learn about climate change and its effects
	Beginners Guide to Global Warming This American site provides basic, accessible information that can help you learn about the basic issues surrounding global climate change. These are split into six different categories and there are some useful links to some of the major organisations.
	Climate Ark A massive international climate change portal. It has categorised links to many of the best resources on the internet and there is a search engine to help you find specific information. Also has regular news, features, links and a news archive.
	Climate Hot Map An interactive map illustrating the early indicators of global warming or climate change in different places around the world. It is brief but informative and there are links to all the organisation responsible for its production.
	Earth Trends Although the first page of this site can take ages to load, it is worth the wait because it is packed with useful information. It provides country by country analysis of certain environmental factors and provides lots of data and maps.
	Heat is Online An informative site about climate change and the actions and inactions) of organisations and governments around the world. It is regularly updated with relevant news stories and packed with well written articles and information. Well worth a visit.
	One World - Climate Change Database Access a huge database of articles about climate change from a network of almost 90 different sites and organisations from all over the world. You can use a keyword search to find specific information or look a specially selected content.
	The Carbon Trader This is a weekly climate change magazine that covers a range of major news stories related to environmental issues. Has some good links and is informative and well presented.
	UK Climate Impacts Programme The UKCIP was set up to help organisations to understand climate change in the UK and prepare for its potential impacts. It contains loads of information about current and predicted climate change in the UK and the effects that it will have.
	UK Rivers Network - Climate Change Links This is a good place to find links to a selection of some of the best climate change websites on the web. There are lots to choose from, but the list is split into categories to help you find the right type of information.
	UN Environment Programme - FAQ This site answers some of the most common questions about climate change. It explains the issues in a clear but detailed way and provides useful diagrams where necessary. A well organised and informative site.
Learn about government policy
	Earth Summit 2002 This site lets you access a huge amount of online resources concerning global climate change and international policy on dealing with the associated problems. A well organised and comprehensive way to find some very useful sites.
	Green Party - England and Wales This is the official site of the English and Welsh branch of the Green party.
	The Environment Agency From here you can access a lot of the official government information about the environment. This includes statistical information about the current state of various aspects of Britain's environment and a loads of advice about how you can do your bit.
	The Foreign Office - Environment An informative section of the Foreign office website. There are several categories to choose between and there are some excellent links to speeches and other useful websites and organisations. A very good source of information.
Shop ethically
	Ethical Consumer Everything you need to be an ethical consumer. Includes guides to brands and products, details of boycotts, regularly updated magazine features, buyers guides and of course, loads about why you should shop ethically in the first place.
	Ethical Junction The Ethical Junction is a gateway to the ethical sector for people in the UK and Ireland, giving a focal point for a broad range of ethical issues and trading. The information and shops you can find here can help you make environmentally sound choices.
	Green Choices A well organised site that lets you find environmentally friendly goods in a large number of different categories. Makes shopping for such goods on the web very easy and includes loads of information and tips in each category. An excellent site.
	Guide to Ethical Shopping This is a well written, concise but useful guide to the ethical shopping on the internet. It contains links within the article to all of the best sites to visit along with the reasons why. Makes shopping ethically a complete doddle and much more reliable.
Start or sign a petition online
	Global Stewards Not a very attractive site but it has links to a number of large international petitions that you can sign online. Covers a wide range of environmental and conservation issues and includes an 'activists toolkit' to help you organise a campaign.
	Go Petition Create a petition online on pretty much anything you want. This site has a specific UK section but also has other global areas so you can reach people all over the world. You can get help with creating petitions and managing any petitions that you start.
	Petition Them A good site that lets you set up petitions with potentially unlimited reach, on almost any issue. You will get help managing any petitions that you create and you can read or sign any other petitions that exist on the site.
Take part in a campaign
	Friends of the Earth - Campaigns Details of the numerous and wide ranging campaigns currently being run by Friends of the Earth. You can find out the reasons behind each campaign and there is information about how you can lend your support and do your bit for the environment.
	Green Net GreenNet is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting groups and individuals working for peace, human rights and the environment through the use of information and the internet. You can find about their services and campaigns here.
	Stop Esso The official site of the campaign against Esso. Read about the reasons why you should stop using Esso petrol and diesel in your car and discover the facts and figures that demonstrate Esso's lack of interest in combating global climate change.
