Scans a document or opens prescanned images, depending on your image source.
Enable the scannerÆs document feeder (ADF) to scan multipage documents. All pages in the document feeder will be scanned and considered part of a single document.
Readiris opens black-and-white, greyscale and color images. Adobe Acrobat PDF documents and JPEG, Paintbrush (PCX), DCX fax (multipage version of the Paintbrush format), (compressed), PNG, TIFF and Windows bitmap (BMP) images are supported.
Prescanned images are mainly faxes and images produced by digital cameras.
Tip: right-click images (Context menu) in the Windows Explorer and select the command Recognize.
Tip: you can drag images from the Windows Explorer onto the Readiris window and the Readiris icon.
Tip: Readiris sorts the images automatically - image 001.tif precedes 002.tif precedes 003.tif etc.
Tip: you can enable the image smoothening when you load prescanned images into memory.
Pay some attention to lineskew. Although page analysis and recognition are skew-tolerant, it may become difficult to zone and recognize a page correctly when the skew is too significant. Tip: Readiris can deskew pages scanned at an angle!
Verify the page orientation. If necessary rotate the images with the rotation tools. Tip: Readiris can detect the page orientation for you!
