Money connects to the Internet (or through a toll-free number if you donÆt have Internet access) to download information about which Online Services your financial institution offers and how much they cost.
If your financial institution offers Web Financial Services (The ability to do common banking tasks from your computer on a Web site provided by your financial institution.), Money sets this up automatically during this wizard. If your institution offers any Direct Financial Services (Services provided by your financial institution that allow you to do common banking tasks from your computer via a direct connection with the financial institutionÆs computer.), Money asks you if you want to review them.
The buttons in steps 5-7 below only appear if your financial institution offers and you choose to review Direct Financial Service options.
Web Financial Services are set up automatically if your financial institution offers them, but if you plan to use them, you still need to go to your financial institutionÆs Web site to sign up.
Whether you use Web or Direct Financial Services, it might take a couple of days for your financial institution to sign you up and enable your account.
What if the options on my screen are different than those described above?
If you use different providers for Direct Statements and Direct Bill Payment, you'll have two columns on your screen, one for each service. Follow steps 5-7 above for each one.
What if I donÆt see my financial institution in the Online Financial Services Manager?
If you have already created the account you want to set up for Online Services, select the account in the Online Financial Services Manager, click Move Account, and then enter the name of the financial institution where this account is held. If you have not yet created the account, click New Account and enter the name of the financial institution on the first screen of the New Account wizard.
This is a unique number that identifies your financial institution. Money uses the routing number to make sure that your Online Services are set up for the correct financial institution.
For U.S. banks, this number is the 9-digit number at the bottom left of your checks. For Canadian banks, this is the 8 digits immediately following the check number at the bottom left of your checks.
