Search

This wizard leads you through the lost strings searching process in the current file or in others. Once completed the search you can return the new found texts to their corresponding cells.

You can search for lost texts in the current file or in an external file:

  • This file: In most cases the text area becomes corrupt but remains in the file. A search in the file itself will allow you to find the lost texts.

  • External file: This is useful if the lost texts are not in the current file and you want to search for them in an external file. Two examples: 1. Temporary files or CHK files as a result of using a file system repair utility such as Scandisk. 2. An obsolete version of the file you are recovering can contain the wanted lost texts.

Click on [Search] to begin the search process. The texts found will be added to the list for a later bind. If you select the option [External file] the name of the file will be asked before searching.
