We use the "Lost string" term to refer to a " text label that has been detached from its container cell" due to a corruption.
In some corruption cases the text listing in an MS Excel file breaks up into several parts. As a result the reference system between the cell information and the text listing becomes invalid. The Lost strings feature will allow you to reconstruct the reference system between both. This feature can help if you have cells with the label "Lost string" or if you have text cells in an incorrect position. This is available for PRO and Enterprise users.
The "Lost strings" corruption recovery feature is not an option for every corrupt MS Excel file. You must read this documentation carefully and check that your file matches all the requirements necessary for this feature to be useful. Lost string corruption recovery is not an automatic feature, it will require the user's involvement. |
