Edit Palette image

Click on the Image menu, then click Edit Palette. A
dialog will appear showing all the colors at use in
the image. This group of colors is the palette.

For images with 256 or fewer colors. If your image
has more than 256, you can use the Decrease Color
Depth option on the Image menu to adjust it.

Click on any color and information about it will be
displayed below. The index is where the color appears
in the palette for that image. Its value is the set
of RGB numbers that make up that color.

Double click the color to bring up another dialog
for editing the color. Your changes will appear in
the image as you make them. Click refresh to update
the palette display. When you are satisfied with
your changes, or to exit without making any changes,
click OK to close the dialog.

This has much the effect of a paint program's fill
tool, dumping a new color into a selected area. Here,
though, the color will change wherever it is in the
image. Dark gray highlights, for example can be made
a lighter gray.

This action can be reversed by the Edit menu's Undo
command.
