Contents Previous Chapter Next Chapter 13. Edit This chapter explains the functions of the [Edit] menu. This menu includes commands for editing the project and for editing an HTML document in conjunction with Namo WebEditor. Using this menu, you can perform cut, copy or paste operations and verify the contents of a file using the Web browser.
This command removes the selected file and places it onto the Clipboard. (These two steps occur simultaneously.) The previous contents of the Clipboard disappears. After the [Cut] command is executed, the icon of the "cut" file becomes opaque. Note that the "cut" file is actually removed from the project and the folder until it is restored using the [Paste] command. [Tip] To move a file to another folder, drag and drop the icon of the file using the mouse. You cannot move a folder in this manner, however.
This command copies the selected file and puts it onto the Clipboard. The copied file remains as it was. The copied material replaces the previous contents of the Clipboard.. The copied file in the Clipboard can be added to a folder you want using the Edit - Paste... command.
This command places, or pastes, the file stored in the clipboard into the selected folder. Clipboard contents do not disappear regardless of how many times you execute the [Paste] command. A new Copy or Cut command, however, will change the contents of the Clipboard. If a file exists with the same name as the pasted file, SiteManager automatically adds the prefix "Copy - " to the name of the pasted file. This prevents two files in a folder from having the same name. The [Paste] command is available only when the [View - Project] option is set. [Tip] To move a file to another folder, drag and drop the icon of the file using the mouse. You cannot move a folder in the same way, however. [Edit - Rename] This command is used to rename a selected file or folder. Before executing this command, place the selection bar on the file you wish to rename. When the text cursor begins to blink on the file name, you can edit it. After renaming the file, use the [Tools - Update All Links] command to update all the links that reference the renamed file. You can also rename the selected file simply by clicking the left mouse button on the file name. [Edit - Delete] Use this command to delete the selected file or folder. Be careful about using this command. As a file, once deleted, cannot be restored. Alternatively, you can use the <Del> key instead of using the [Edit - Delete] menu. After deleting a file, use the [Tools - Update All Links] command to update all the links that reference the deleted file.
