This chapter deals with the [File] menu of Namo SiteManager. In the [File] menu, you can create a new project, open an existing project, or save an open project. You can also add a file or folder to the project, print the link connectivity within the project, and more.

(For example, "http://www.namo.co.kr/~namoboy/".)

Where would you like SiteManager to save your site?

  • Enter the path name of the folder that contains the project. If a folder does not exist, SiteManager will ask whether or not to create it. 1. Click the [Next] button. The [Create New Project - Index File Name] dialog box appears.

(7) Project Properties...

This command is used to verify and modify the properties of the current project. The properties include the project name, the final site adress, the save folder (directory), the index file name, and the import site address. You can modify some of these properties: the project name, the final site address, and the index file name.

Name:

The name of the project file. The management of the entire site is based on this project file.

Final Location (URL):

The target Web server address to which the current project will be published.

Save Directory:

The directory or folder that contains the project file and all the files in the project. This directory can include subdirectories or subfolders.

Index File name:

The index page (root page) file. The index page is the Web page that appears when a user first accesses a Web site.

[Caution] The name of the index page may differ among servers. Be sure to confirm the correct name before entering it. You can consult the server administrator for the correct name. The most commonly used names are "index.htm" and "index.html."

Imported From (URL):

The original location of files that were imported when SiteManager created the project. This location is either a remote URL address (if the files were imported from an external Web site) or the path of the folder (if the files were imported from a local disk).

(8) Import Files...

[File - Import Files...]

This command imports files into the current project.

If the [Check External link on Update Links] option is on, SiteManager checks the links whenever files are imported. This may sometimes take long.

  1. Select the [File - Import Files...] menu. The [File - Import Files] dialog box appears.
  2. Enter the path of a file to import.
  3. Use the left mouse button to select the folder to go into or the file to import.

  1. If you have selected all the files you want, click the [Open] button.

If a file being imported has the same name as the file in the current folder, SiteManager adds the prefix "Copy - " to the name of the imported file. This prevents coexisting of two files with the same name in a project.

[Information] If you check the [Always prompt on import files] option in the [Option] dialog box, SiteManager displays a confirmation message box before importing files. The [Option] dialog box is invoked when you select the [Tools - Option...] menu.

(9) Print Report

[File - Print Report] <Ctrl+P>

With this command, SiteManager prints status information about the link connectivity of a project. This information can be also shown on the screen using the [View - Status] menu.

It may be difficult to verify status information onscreen if there are many documents in a project. In such cases, this command can ease the verification of information.

(10) Print Preview

[File - Print Preview]

Use this command to preview the contents to print before actually printing the status information.

The printed pages may be viewed on one or two pages at a time. To zoom in, click the left mouse button on the page. To zoom out, click the right mouse button on the page.

(11) Print Setup...

[File - Print Setup...]

Use this command to verify and modify the setup of the printer. You can select a printer to use from the printer sets supported by your system. You can also set up the size of the paper and the direction of printing.

(12) Recent Files

SiteManager keeps a list of the 16 most recently opened project files. This list appears in the [File] menu, with the most recent file shown first. To open a file in the list, select it using the mouse or type the number of the file.

(13) Exit

This command is used to close the current project file and close Namo SiteManager. If you changed the project after saving it for the last time, you are asked whether or not to save the project before exiting.
