Image Mapping
As we now know an image can be a clickable link as well, but did you know an image can also contain several links? It's called Image Mapping and it is done by specifying regions of the image for individual links. When visitors place their mouse over a region and click, they are transported to the link defined that region. Let's try out image mapping now.
- right click on the image second from the top of the canvas
(the one that lists the other pages in the site)
- select link and then Image Mapping
(the Image Mapping control window is opened and now we can specify regions of the image we want to use as links.)
- select rectangle and use the mouse and the left button to create a region big enough to surround the first two words on the image "New Products".
(If the region isn't quite large enough select it and use the black box in the right hand corner to resize it.)
- place your mouse cursor within the region and right click.
- select link, then link to other page and select the "new products" page.
- Click OK
- now repeat the same steps for the other options.
