Hello,I am working at a McDonald's restaurant in Belgium for 1/2 year now. And I couldn't have found a better job!!!
I've red your opinion and I must say, my experience after 1/2 is totally different. I dont't say that what you are saying is not true but my expirience is more positive.
I think that there is a great difference between the working methods of the managers in the McDonald's restaurants.
: Then i was shown out of date and irrelevant videos from the 70s and 80s, showing how you are supposed to be mcworking properly.
Ok, I agree, those videos are out of date, but they are not irrelevant!
: Some say that once you turn 18 they give you minimum hours to make you quit however i have not found this to be true.
Not true, I am 19 and I have a 30 hours contract
: They do not care when they ring you to ask you to work and this is rather inconsiderate of them.
Not true, when you already have made some other arangements that day, they respect that. They asked my several times to back up a crew member that was sick. Sometimes I said "no problem", sometimes I said "I am sorry , but I have already made some other plans for that day". The reaction of the manager was "No problem, we will find an other solution".
: Wastage is a big problem for me.
When we close at 11.00 pm there are still some salads or apple pies left. We are free to take them home and we don't have to pay for it!!! When I work at these shifts, generaly I go home with 4 or 5 and maybe 6 salads.
: McRock also sucks and something should be done about this.
Everybody at our store is free to bring some CD's
So, that's my opinion about McWork.
