- More memory now will definitely improve Executor/X-Windows
- performance. At some point after we get Executor/NEXTSTEP going
- again, we are likely to have an SVGALIB version of Executor/Linux. It
- is not clear how much memory Executor/SVGALIB will need. In addition,
- our Linux version is not particularly tuned toward efficient memory
- use, but even when it is, Executor itself is about 1.5 MB and needs
- room for the Mac program that you're going to run. It also needs room
- for the memory that the Mac program requires and beyond that there is
- need for additional memory for the translated to x86 version of the
- Mac program Executor's running, so even a memory-tuned SVGALIB version
- is still going to take up a bunch of memory if you want to do anything
- interesting with it.
