    Hi, I got a wierd problem with 1.99q.  It won't start unless I run
it under a dos shell from Windows 95 (that is to click on the MS-DOS prompt.
Sound don't work (card is probably locked by windows?)
Cyclone still don't run
and there is still no serial support.

I like the concept of a MAC emulator, but whats the point, if it can't
communicate with the outside world, Don't run a reasonable amount of
software.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad or bitching, but I don't see
how usefull a computer is that can't print, can't dial up to an online service,
I cannot buy software for it confidently because I don't know if it is going
to work.

Perhaps someone can help me, Can I use my pc to download files from the internet,
if so, how can I get the file into executor.
Has anyone gotten cyclone to work (this game is the main reason I would want
executor)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Okay, I am running Win 95 w/ 16 megs on a 486DX2/66. If I start 1.99q in
Win95, it gives me a device conflict error, the same one I have gotten
since sound was introduced.

If I start 1.99q from a DOS prompt, my computer locks up, I think on the
CD-ROM read, I am not quite sure what does it, because I have to reboot
my computer without any error messages.

I had 1.99p9 working in Win95, but it gave me a constant buzz, probably
due to bad sound card or something. So anyhow, 1.99q is basically a step
backwards for me. I would appreciate it if this program that I just
bought would work on my computer, but as of right now, I cannot even
start it.

Please try to get to the bottom of these bugs and exterminate them.

The FAQ is available on http://www.ardi.com, and also comes with
Executor.

Executor has no networking support (yet).  "executor -help" will also
give you a list of command-line options.  "alt-shift-5" will bring up
a configuration panel you can edit.

For video, the important things are:

1) Install UniVBE for best performance (if "executor -info" says you don't
   have a VBE 2.0-compatible video driver).

2) You can say "executor -size 800x600", etc. to change the screen size.

For sound, there's not much to do.  You can experiment with sound
on/sound off/pretend sound in the alt-shift-5 panel if a program is
misbehaving.

Hmmm.  Make sure animation mode isn't on in the programs you are
running; that can slow it down a lot.  You can change this in the
alt-shift-5 preferences panel.  Other than that, I'm not sure why it
could have slowed down.  Hmmm.

What happens when you try "executor -nosound"?

I use the Univbe for VBE2.0, but I cannot get E/DOS to run in more than
256 colors. Has that portion been implemented? IT always says I cant do
more than 8bpp, yet I have 1Meg of Vram.

Executor does not yet support more than 256 colors.  That probably
won't happen until after 2.0 ships.

I can finally hear sound from my Microsoft
Sond System 16bit sound card in Win 95 in
1.99q, Good job!  Though, the sound quality is
still very poor with alot of statics.  Is there
any chance that the problem will be fixed
by 2.0?
