  1. Okay, I am running Win 95 w/ 16 megs on a 486DX2/66. If I start 1.99q in 
  2. Win95, it gives me a device conflict error, the same one I have gotten 
  3. since sound was introduced.
  4.  
  5. If I start 1.99q from a DOS prompt, my computer locks up, I think on the 
  6. CD-ROM read, I am not quite sure what does it, because I have to reboot 
  7. my computer without any error messages.
  8.  
  9. I had 1.99p9 working in Win95, but it gave me a constant buzz, probably 
  10. due to bad sound card or something. So anyhow, 1.99q is basically a step 
  11. backwards for me. I would appreciate it if this program that I just 
  12. bought would work on my computer, but as of right now, I cannot even 
  13. start it.

  15. Please try to get to the bottom of these bugs and exterminate them.

  46. Executor.

  48. Executor has no networking support (yet).  "executor -help" will also
  49. give you a list of command-line options.  "alt-shift-5" will bring up
  50. a configuration panel you can edit.

  52. For video, the important things are:

  54. 1) Install UniVBE for best performance (if "executor -info" says you don't
  55.    have a VBE 2.0-compatible video driver).
  56.  
  57. 2) You can say "executor -size 800x600", etc. to change the screen size.

  59. For sound, there's not much to do.  You can experiment with sound
  60. on/sound off/pretend sound in the alt-shift-5 panel if a program is
  61. misbehaving.

  94. Hmmm.  Make sure animation mode isn't on in the programs you are
  95. running; that can slow it down a lot.  You can change this in the
  96. alt-shift-5 preferences panel.  Other than that, I'm not sure why it
  97. could have slowed down.  Hmmm.

  186. 256 colors. Has that portion been implemented? IT always says I cant do 
  187. more than 8bpp, yet I have 1Meg of Vram.

  247. Executor does not yet support more than 256 colors.  That probably
  248. won't happen until after 2.0 ships.

  274. I can finally hear sound from my Microsoft
  275. Sond System 16bit sound card in Win 95 in
  276. 1.99q, Good job!  Though, the sound quality is
  277. still very poor with alot of statics.  Is there
  278. any chance that the problem will be fixed
  279. by 2.0?
