It won't start unless I run it under a dos shell from Windows 95 (that is to click on the MS-DOS prompt. Sound don't work (card is probably locked by windows?) Cyclone still don't run and there is still no serial support. I like the concept of a MAC emulator, but whats the point, if it can't communicate with the outside world, Don't run a reasonable amount of software. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad or bitching, but I don't see how usefull a computer is that can't print, can't dial up to an online service, I cannot buy software for it confidently because I don't know if it is going to work. Perhaps someone can help me, Can I use my pc to download files from the internet, if so, how can I get the file into executor. Has anyone gotten cyclone to work (this game is the main reason I would want executor) Any help would be greatly appreciated! If I start 1.99q in Win95, it gives me a device conflict error, the same one I have gotten since sound was introduced. If I start 1.99q from a DOS prompt, my computer locks up, I think on the CD-ROM read, I am not quite sure what does it, because I have to reboot my computer without any error messages. I had 1.99p9 working in Win95, but it gave me a constant buzz, probably due to bad sound card or something. So anyhow, 1.99q is basically a step backwards for me. I would appreciate it if this program that I just bought would work on my computer, but as of right now, I cannot even start it. Please try to get to the bottom of these bugs and exterminate them. -- Thanks From owner-paper Thu Jan 4 10:19:47 1996 Return-Path: <owner-paper> Received: by ftp.ardi.com (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tXtKL-0007qBa; Thu, 4 Jan 96 10:19 MST Sender: owner-paper Received: from gwar.ardi.com by ftp.ardi.com with bsmtp (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tXtJm-0007q3C; Thu, 4 Jan 96 10:19 MST Received: by gwar.ardi.com (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tXt6x-000GXNC; Thu, 4 Jan 96 10:05 MST Message-Id: <m0tXt6x-000GXNC@gwar.ardi.com> Date: Thu, 4 Jan 96 10:05 MST From: mat@ardi.com (Mat Hostetter) To: Nathan Grass <grassn@okinawa.usmc.mil> Subject: Re: Configure Executor Newsgroups: comp.emulators.mac.executor In-Reply-To: <30EBA822.73C5@okinawa.usmc.mil> References: <30EBA822.73C5@okinawa.usmc.mil> cc: executor@ardi.com Sender: owner-paper@ardi.com Precedence: bulk >>>>> "Nathan" == Nathan Grass <grassn@okinawa.usmc.mil> writes: Nathan> How do I configure the sound, video, and LAN for Executor? "executor -help" will also give you a list of command-line options. "alt-shift-5" will bring up a configuration panel you can edit. For video, the important things are: 1) Install UniVBE for best performance (if "executor -info" says you don't have a VBE 2.0-compatible video driver). 2) You can say "executor -size 800x600", etc. to change the screen size. For sound, there's not much to do. You can experiment with sound on/sound off/pretend sound in the alt-shift-5 panel if a program is misbehaving. -Mat From owner-paper Thu Jan 4 10:22:47 1996 Return-Path: <owner-paper> Received: by ftp.ardi.com (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tXtNF-0007qCa; Thu, 4 Jan 96 10:22 MST Sender: owner-paper Received: from gwar.ardi.com by ftp.ardi.com with bsmtp (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tXtMi-0007q3C; Thu, 4 Jan 96 10:22 MST Received: by gwar.ardi.com (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tXt9s-000GXNC; Thu, 4 Jan 96 10:08 MST Message-Id: <m0tXt9s-000GXNC@gwar.ardi.com> Date: Thu, 4 Jan 96 10:08 MST From: mat@ardi.com (Mat Hostetter) To: KELMAN@FCRFV1.NCIFCRF.GOV Subject: Re: Something else with E/NS In-Reply-To: <960104085804.2044ed08@FCRFV1.NCIFCRF.GOV> References: <960104085804.2044ed08@FCRFV1.NCIFCRF.GOV> cc: executor@ardi.com Sender: owner-paper@ardi.com Precedence: bulk >>>>> "KELMAN" == KELMAN <KELMAN@FCRFV1.NCIFCRF.GOV> writes: KELMAN> This isn't quite a show stopper of a problem, but KELMAN> something happened to the speed of the graphics between KELMAN> 1.99px and 1.00q for E/NS, as it is real slow in 1.99q by KELMAN> comparison.
