  2.        GRANDPA'S HELPFUL HINTS

  7. on my dad's side, left a ledger book
  8. filled with useful around the house
  9. helps and hints. This new feature in
  10. LOADSTAR will offer you one of those
  11. hints every now and then.
  12.  
  13.     For this feature, we found a
  14. picture of Grandpa (not [my] Grandpa,
  15. but certainly somebody's) and turned
  16. it into a nice line drawing. With a
  17. little skooshing around, we added the
  18. old-fashioned blackboard and Exit
  19. button.
  20.  
  21.     The text on the blackboard is
  22. controlled with the mouse. Click on
  23. the text near the bottom to move down
  24. one line. Click on the down-arrow on
  25. the frame of the blackboard to move
  26. down a page at a time.  Exit is
  27. exactly what you would expect.

  33.     Again, DotBASIC allowed extremely
  34. fast development of this new feature.
  35. The only downside was that the only
  36. keyboard control of scrolling is to
  37. use the <U> and <D> keys. Not really
  38. elegant -- which is why we are
  39. frantically working on DBII, which
  40. will give more power with less
  41. prescribed work -- and will save
  42. precious memory as well.
