  12. REGARDING: Green Forces Pending
  13.            Aggressive Action.
  14. FROM: RED TEAM COMMANDER

  17. WARNING! We have received advance
  18. scout reports of verifiable enemy
  19. activity in your area. We currently
  20. estimate that anywhere between 5 and
  21. 15 Battalions of Enemy Troops are
  22. emplacing operations in the ruins of
  23. Civilian Buildings opposite the wall
  24. of Red Team Fortress. We are only able
  25. to provide you with four boxes of
  26. Ammunition at this time, as we have to
  27. conserve our own supply. You are to
  28. hold the fortress at all costs.
  29.  
  30.     This is a Direct Order. There can
  31. be no withdrawal under Hostile Fire.
  32. We expect that the Green Team will
  33. begin their assault on your current
  34. location at Daybreak tomorrow morning.
  35. Expect Enemy incoming by 0800. It will
  36. probably get pretty hairy down
  37. there. Good Shooting...and Good Luck!

  41.     We've never published a really
  42. gungho military game in Ahoy!, so I
  43. figured it was time to do one. In this
  44. short and sweet BASIC-ML hybrid
  45. program, you fight off a communist
  46. horde who are launching a massive
  47. assault on your location.
  48.  
  49.     As they appear in the windows of
  50. the bombed out ruins on the other side
  51. of the stone wall of your fortress,
  52. you attempt to shoot them before they
  53. can get a bead on the wall with their
  54. LAWs (Light Antitank Weapons). If you
  55. are too slow, they fire a rocket which
  56. blows away a portion of the wall. The
  57. resulting damage is registered on the
  58. red bar at the bottom of the screen.
  59. When this bar vanishes, the fortress
  60. has been overrun.

  62.     The game uses a joystick in Port
  63. 2. The white cross represents your
  64. aiming point. Center this on a soldier
  65. as he appears in the window and press
  66. the button. If you hold the trigger
  67. down, the gun will fire continuously.
  68. This is very unwise, however, because
  69. you only have four boxes of ammo to
  70. begin with, and when they are used up,
  71. you're at the mercy of the GREEN
  72. aggressors.
  73.  
  74.     The game has four different attack
  75. waves, with complete havoc breaking
  76. loose on the fourth one. Soldiers will
  77. be popping up in every window and
  78. firing everything they've got left to
  79. try to destroy the fortress. If you
  80. manage to survive this last attack,
  81. the RED army will be victorious over
  82. the GREEN forces. Otherwise, you'll
  83. end up reading propaganda and growing
  84. potatoes.

  86.     The soldiers are worth 150 points
  87. apiece, multiplied by the number of
  88. the wave. Any score over 70,000 is
  89. good.

  91.     It's very difficult to repel the
  92. GREEN forces. They're mean. They're
  93. hateful. They cross the street against
  94. the light. They've got tons of overdue
  95. library books. Just last week, they
  96. killed Rambo by inserting bullets into
  97. his body manually.
