  1. BASELN allows you to create a series of dimensions that 
  2. have one reference point (the baseline point) in common. 
  3. The dimensions are stacked so that dimensions of lesser
  4. value are displayed below dimensions of larger value. You
  5. can select a maximum of 50 reference points for baseline
  6. dimensions.
  7.  
  8. Please be aware of the following notes:
  9.  
  10. * Baseline dimensions are only displayed in the view in
  11.   which they are created.
  12. * You must select all points of a baseline dimension 
  13.   before you create the actual dimension.
  14. * To automatically center dimension text, use DETAIL, SET,
  15.   TEXT, DIM PLC, AUTO CEN.
  16.  
  17. Select the axis for the baseline dimensions by choosing 
  18. from the following options:
  19.  
  20. HORIZTL - to display baseline dimensions horizontally
  21.           between the selected points.
  22.  
  23. VERTICL - to display baseline dimensions vertically 
  24.           between the selected points.
  25.  
  26. PARALEL - to display baseline dimensioning parallel to the
  27.           general direction of the selected points, 
  28.           according to the indicated axis position. 
  29.           Indicate the axis you want as your dimension
  30.           axis by selecting two positions.

  32. Indicate the base position of the dimension by choosing a
  33. Position Menu option. This position is the common 
  34. reference point for the baseline dimensions.

  36. Select, in any order, the positions (up to a maximum
  37. of 50) you wish to dimension to from the indicated base 
  38. position.

  40. Press <Enter> when you have finished selecting the
  41. positions.

  43. Select a position to indicate the witness line height. 
  44. This position is used to calculate the witness and leader
  45. lines for the first dimension. The witness lines for 
  46. subsequent dimensions are raised by twice the dimension
  47. text height of the first dimension.

  49. Two temporary lines are displayed on the screen to 
  50. indicate the boundaries of the dimension to be processed.
  51.  
  52. Indicate the dimension text position. This position
  53. determines the run, not the rise (or height) of the
  54. placement of the dimension text. It is projected to the
  55. current witness height line. When you place the text, the
  56. dimensioning is calculated from the base point to the
  57. indicated positions, in sequential order, starting with 
  58. the positions closest to the base point.

  60. The dimension is displayed, along with its leader lines.
  61.  
  62. Indicate whether or not you want to accept the dimensions.
  63. If you choose NO, the dimension and its leader lines are
  64. deleted and the temporary witness lines remain highlighted
  65. until a new dimension text position is indicated. If you
  66. choose YES, the dimension is accepted and is displayed 
  67. along with its witness lines.

  69. As each dimension is processed, temporary witness lines
  70. indicating the next dimension to be processed are 
  71. displayed at the new height (i.e., the old height plus two
  72. times the dimension text height).

  74. Continue until all of the dimensions are processed.
