  1. CREATE allows you to create a string of ordinate 
  2. dimensions on the horizontal, vertical, or parallel axis.
  3.  
  4. Choose whether or not to align ordinate dimensions.
  5.  
  6. ALIGNED - to create and arrange all dimension ordinate
  7.           text corresponding to text positioning of the
  8.           base ordinate.
  9.  
  10. NON-ALN (non-aligned) - to create ordinate dimensions
  11.           and text according to positions specified by 
  12.           the user.
  13.  
  14. Next, indicate whether you want to dimension the
  15. horizontal, vertical, or parallel axes.
  16.  
  17. If you select the parallel axis, use the displayed 
  18. Position Menu and indicate two positions to specify the
  19. direction of the dimension axis.
  20.  
  21. After you select the axis you want, indicate a location
  22. for the base (first) ordinate using a Position Menu 
  23. option.
  24.  
  25. This base ordinate is the beginning position of an 
  26. ordinate string on the specified axis. All ordinates
  27. created after this base position are referred to as
  28. subordinates.

  30. Next, indicate a placement position for ordinate dimension
  31. text. Depending on the alignment method selected earlier,
  32. one of the following actions are taken:

  34. If you selected ALIGNED, the first text position sets the
  35. position for all other text in the string. From this point
  36. on, indicate the desired positions for dimensioning using
  37. the Position Menu displayed. Text is automatically aligned
  38. with the first dimension created. Press <Enter> when the
  39. string is completed.

  41. If you selected NON-ALN, text placement must be positioned
  42. for each ordinate created in the string. The leader line 
  43. is drawn from the position indicated to the text 
  44. dimension.

  46. Continue to indicate placement and dimension text 
  47. positions for each subordinate.

  49. With the DIM MOD switch set to AUTOMAT, each ordinate
  50. dimension is calculated automatically.
  51.  
  52. With the DIM MOD switch set to MANUAL, the on-line text
  53. editor is activated and you are prompted to enter the
  54. dimension text.

  56. To end the text input, choose the SAVE TX (save text)
  57. option.
  58.  
  59. Press <Enter> when the ordinate string is completed.
  60.  
  61. Avoid overlapping leader lines and text by positioning 
  62. them around an imaginary box that has been drawn about the
  63. text in the direction of the axis defined (horizontal,
  64. vertical, or parallel). If a subordinate position is 
  65. indicated within this text box, the text and leader line
  66. will overlap.
  67.  
  68. <Enter> must be pressed to finalize a string of ordinates.
