- 2 CURVE allows you to create a polygon mesh that is
- defined by a selected generator curve and director curve.
- The mesh approximates the swept surface that is formed by
- moving (sweeping) the generator curve along the director
- curve.
-
- Choose either a three-sided or four-sided polygon from the
- displayed menu. A three-sided polygon mesh allows for
- easier shading, a four-sided polygon mesh is a more
- precise mesh.
-
- Defining the sweep of the profile by choosing from the
- following options:
-
- TRANSL (translate) - to maintain the generator curve's
- orientation relative to the world coordinate frame as the
- generator curve is moved along the director curve.
-
- ROTATE - to maintain the generator curve's orientation to
- the director curve as it moves along the director curve.
-
-
- Select the line, arc, conic, or spline to be used as the
- generator curve.
-
- Enter the number of segments that the generator curve is
- to be broken into.
-
- Select the line, arc, conic, or spline to be used as the
- director curve, near the end where you want to start the
- sweep of the generator curve.
-
- Enter the number of segments that the director curve is to
- be broken into.
-
- If the curves are not connected correctly, choose NO from
- the displayed NO/YES menu. If the curves are connected
- correctly, choose YES.
-
- Indicate whether to group the entities. Choose NO to
- continue without grouping. Choose YES to create a group,
- and enter a group name.
-
- The mesh is created.
