  17. Once again Digital UK present the main event of the year, Amiga and PC,
  18. together, in harmony (hmm well maybe).

  48. Due to sponsorship of the event it is now possible to reduce the price of
  49. tickets in advance, the new prices are as follows:

  51.             Tickets in advance   : 6 UK Pounds
  52.             Tickets on the door  : 12 UK Pounds

  58.                              Competitions
  59.  
  60. The following competitions will be held:
  61.  
  62. Amiga Demo
  63.       The demo MUST run on an:
  64.       Amiga 1200 
  65.       2 Megabytes Chip Memory
  66.       4 Megabytes Fast Memory
  67.  
  68.  
  69. PC    Demo
  70.       The demo will be run on a:
  71.       i486 DX2 66Mhz PC
  72.       16 Megabytes of ram
  73.       Soundblaster 16
  74.  
  75. Multichannel music Amiga/PC
  76.       All music will be replayed with either:
  77.       Eagleplayer for Amiga music entries
  78.       or
  79.       Inertia Player V1.20 for PC entries
  80.  
  81. Graphics Amiga/PC
  82.       Graphix may be up to 256 colours in 1024x768 resolution, all entries
  83.       will be displayed on their appropriate machine (so HAM entries on the
  84.       Amiga)
  85.  
  86.       All graphics must be in either JPEG, GIF or IFF/ILBM format.
  87.  
  88. *Amiga 60K Intro Competition*
  89.       Must run on an A1200 + 4 Meg of Fast Ram, no disk libraries
  90.  
  91. *PC 60K Intro Competition*
  92.       Once again, must run on the DX2 66, Soundblaster card, 16 meg ram
  93.  
  94. Tug-O-War
  95.       The party would not be complete without the obligatory tug-o-war,
  96.       each group may have up to 5 members and will play in an instant 
  97.       knock-out league.
  98.  
  99. Game Competition
  100.       Multiplayer doom will be the order of the day, 4 networked PC's, fight
  101.       it out in a knockout tournament.
  102.  
  103. All entries for the prize winning compo's (Demo, Graphics, Music, Intros)
  104. must be handed in to an organiser by 4 P.M at the latest.
  105.  
  106. Remember this is the UK, there are not that many talented scene people here
  107. so give it a go.  (easy money...)

  111.  
  112. If you think you have/are writing the next killer PC game then contact me
  113. before the party as GT Interactive are looking to sponsor you...

  119.                                Prizes
  120.  
  121. Well, prizes will all be determined by the number of people coming to the
  122. party - so the more people we get, the more money >you< get, and the more
  123. fun we can all have.  So bring your friends, pets, contactz, parents,
  124. and fish with you.
  125.  
  126. I'm intending to cover the costs of hiring the building etc... but this is
  127. a non-profit party (yeah really....) so all surplus money will be ploughed
  128. into the prizes.
  129.  
  130. This party is intended to try to show the rest of the world that the UK can
  131. supply quality products and is not just known for older, dead groups.
  132.

  135.                                Travel
  136.  
  137. The University of Warwick is situated between Leamington Spa and Coventry
  138. (near Kenilworth)  it's marked on all major road maps and lies on the A429.
  139.  
  140. The Gibbet Hill refectory is (surprisingly enough) on the Gibbet Hill site
  141. of the campus and is well signposted from the University itself.
  142.  
  143.  
  144. Foot:  
  145.        From the University Bus stop follow the signs for about 5 minutes
  146.        walk to the refectory, or alternatively ask to be dropped off at the
  147.        Gibbet Hill site.
  148.  
  149. Car:   
  150.        The university is easily accessible from: M40, M42, M1, M45 and the
  151.        A46.  Once you reach the A46, head for the A429.  (Kirby Corner and
  152.        Westwood Heath are both roads to keep an eye out for.)
  153.  
  154.        Parking is free and there will be more than enough spaces for
  155.        everyone.
  156.  
  157. Buses: 
  158.        The X12, 112, and 12 will all drop you off at the University central 
  159.        campus (ask the driver, depending upon which bus you get you may be 
  160.        able to get off at Gibbet Hill)
  161.  
  162.        Both of these buses visit Coventry (Bus stop is near the Pizza Hut)
  163.        and Leamington (bus goes from opposite the Church)
  164.  
  165.        The fare is about 50 pence from Coventry, 1 pound from Leamington
  166.        Spa.
  167.  
  168. Train:
  169.        Both Leamington Spa and Coventry have train stations and are on a
  170.        major line from London.  The bus stop at Coventry Station is located
  171.        on the bridge you can see from the platform.  Leamington Spa bus
  172.        stop is a 2 minute walk for the station, ask for directions.
  173.  
  174. Air:
  175.        Brimingham International Airport is a 12 minute train journey away
  176.        from Coventry.
  177.  
  178. Sea:
  179.        Harwich port has good rail links to the rest of the country and
  180.        Coventry.

  184.                                Voting
  185.  
  186. Voting sheets will be given to you as you arrive, votes will be logged on
  187. computer and then displayed.  Your handle will also be displayed along with
  188. your ticket number so NO CHEATING should be possible.  (Voting data will be
  189. available to everyone at the end of the party if they want it)

  193.                                 Rules
  194.  
  195. 1) All competition entries MUST be handed in to an organiser 
  196.    by 4 pm latest.
  197.  
  198. 2) A maximum of 3 minutes of any music entry will be played.
  199.  
  200. 3) No selling food, drink, disks etc...
  201.  
  202. 4) Drinking is allowed :)  but anyone who cannot behave themselves will be
  203.    thrown outside until they calm down.  Anyone really hell bent on being
  204.    disruptive will be having a little talk with security...
  205.  
  206. 5) No racist/nazi/etc... abuse or you'll be kicked out.
  207.  
  208. 6) People will of course pay for any damage they cause.
  209.  
  210. 7) We (the organisers) accept no responsability for anything which may be
  211.    stolen or damaged, like all parties - keep an eye on your computer.
  212.  
  213. 8) This is a legal party - we accept no responsability for any illegal
  214.    copying, lending etc.. of software/video etc..
  215.

  218. 9) We reserve the right to cancel the party at the latest of two weeks
  219.    before the stated date, in the event of cancelation all money will be
  220.    refuned and you can keep your ticket as a souvenir of something that
  221.    could have been good.

  223. 10) Digital have to win the demo competition . . . . nah scrub that :)

  227.                               Facilities
  228.  
  229. Professional electricians will be setting up power supplies so there should
  230. be no electrical problems so bring as many computers as you like.
  231.  
  232. Vending machines are avaible for soft drinks and snacks.
  233.  
  234. Food (and alcohol!) is available on central campus and plans are underway
  235. to provide food in the refectory.
  236.  
  237.         Food will now be available in the refectory: hot dogs, beefburgers
  238.                                                      sandwiches, drinks...
