  19.         As we all know Amiga-Technologies is bussy with te walker
  20.         project and the walker will be released begin this summer.
  21.         But there is some more news, today there was a convention
  22.         held in Stockholm with Amiga-Technologies , ESCOM , Phase-5
  23.         and SONY. For the people who didn't know, SONY has took over
  24.         the Amiga from ESCOM. (Read USENET, newsgroup: comp.sys.amiga.news)

  27.         There were some really nice things there in Stockholm, SONY
  28.         has idea's to build PlaySTation technics for VideoGraphics,
  29.         like Hardware 3D : Texturemapping, Antialiasing, Flat and
  30.         3D surfaced Polygons.

  33.         When the Walker Project is finished the 'new' Amiga will be
  34.         released in begin summer of 1997. Am-Tech is already bussy
  35.         with the 'new' Amiga. It's called The AM-R6xx Project or in
  36.         other words Amiga R600 will be the new line of the new Amiga's.
  37.         Because the Amiga is going to change a lot, and it wouldn't be
  38.         logical to call it A4500 or A5000 or whatever!

  41.         The internal hardware was the main discussion at the converence
  42.         in Stockholm. The whole setup of the Amiga will be changed ,
  43.         CHIPMEM and/ FASTMEM will still be the same but with a different
  44.         technique. All graphics chips will be changed 3D chip will be
  45.         inplented 24bit video output will be available in 72Hz , 60Hz and
  46.         50Hz PAL standard (Of course this can be changed by user). User
  47.         can choose between 'CHUNKEY' and 'BITPLANE' modes because of the
  48.         realtime Chunkey-TO-Planner converter. And ofcourse the CPU will
  49.         be changed (see Tech.specs). New parallel port will be installed
  50.         named EPP designed by Intel. This new port can handle 15MB/s. The
  51.         processor who will be the hard of the new amiga is as u all know
  52.         the PowerPC series from Apple , IBM, Motorola. (602 - 620). There
  53.         will be an optional empty CPU socked for parallel processing for
  54.         more processor speed. And ofcourse the O/S will be ported to RISC
  55.         with a 68K emutalion for the 'OLD' 680x0 code. So you can still
  56.         work with your 'OLD' Applications.
