- ^How to make up a practice file for TouchType...

- As you can see, the maximum length any line in the practice file can
- be is 70 characters. If any line is longer it will be cut off at 70
- characters.
- If you want a title in this window for your practice file all you
- need to do is place a carrot (^) in the first column of the first
- line of the file. The text on that line will now be the title of
- this window, i.e.
- ^ MY PRACTICE FILE
-
- Placing the carrot (^) in the first column of the last line of the
- file causes the message "END OF FILE" to appear when the last line
- of the file is on the typing line.
-
- Practice files can be created with any ASCII editor. You can also
- use any existing ASCII file and simply rename it with the .LSN
- extension. For example, suppose I wanted to practice on a .DOC file
- that came with a public domain program. I would just rename the .DOC
- file to have a .LSN extension, i.e. REN FILENAME.DOC FILENAME.LSN.
-
- TouchType is capable of handling an ASCII file that is approximately
- 1000 lines long. This should be more than adequate for the average
- beginner.
