  1. ^The Screen...
  2. The keyboard you see below is designed to show the novice 
  3. TouchTypist WHERE the keys are.  As you can see, the home
  4. row keys have double boxes around them.  Your fingers
  5. should always remain on these keys!  When you remove a finger
  6. from a Home Row key to strike another key then you should 
  7. immediately return the finger to the home row key it belongs 
  8. on.  As your knowledge of the keyboard grows and your speed 
  9. increases this will not always be necessary.

  11. On the displayed keyboard you will see a letter flashing.
  12. This letter will also be displayed in high intensity white
  13. on the type line (The Type Line is the second line in the
  14. window).  At this time you will also see one of the Home
  15. Row Keys with a wider vertical border than the rest.  
  16. The finger resting on this key is the proper finger to 
  17. strike the flashing letter with.  TRY TO MOVE YOUR FINGER
  18. TO THE FLASHING LETTER, STRIKE IT, AND RETURN WITHOUT
  19. LOOKING AT THE KEYBOARD.

  21. On the typing line, the cursor is displayed as an underline.
  22. This underline will appear in all places on the typing line
  23. that a SPACE should be typed.  The space bar is tapped with
  24. your right thumb.
