- ^The Screen...
- The keyboard you see below is designed to show the novice
- TouchTypist WHERE the keys are. As you can see, the home
- row keys have double boxes around them. Your fingers
- should always remain on these keys! When you remove a finger
- from a Home Row key to strike another key then you should
- immediately return the finger to the home row key it belongs
- on. As your knowledge of the keyboard grows and your speed
- increases this will not always be necessary.
-
- On the displayed keyboard you will see a letter flashing.
- This letter will also be displayed in high intensity white
- on the type line (The Type Line is the second line in the
- window). At this time you will also see one of the Home
- Row Keys with a wider vertical border than the rest.
- The finger resting on this key is the proper finger to
- strike the flashing letter with. TRY TO MOVE YOUR FINGER
- TO THE FLASHING LETTER, STRIKE IT, AND RETURN WITHOUT
- LOOKING AT THE KEYBOARD.
-
- On the typing line, the cursor is displayed as an underline.
- This underline will appear in all places on the typing line
- that a SPACE should be typed. The space bar is tapped with
- your right thumb.
-
- The file called INFO2 should be read next.
