- Not true.
-
- BOTH cellular providers offer price packages that waive the roaming
- charges. Basically, you pay a higher "per-minute" airtime fee and
- don't have to worry if you are in or out of your "home" area. Normally
- you have to pay a surcharge for airtime outside of your "home" cellular
- area.
-
- I had this plan for 2 years with Cellular One. I paid $.35 per minute
- NATIONWIDE. Later, I changed jobs and quit traveling and I switched
- to a cheaper plan. Less per-minute home charges, and since I never
- roam (well hardly ever) I come out ahead.
-
- With either company, you must do your homework and study your lifestyle
- and needs for the phone. In some cases, the more expensive plan will
- be the most economical, viewing just the monthly bottom line.
