Give me a break, people.  Please.  If you want to think for a minute, begin
by throwing away the flames, the jr high insults, the straw men, the silly
sitcom stereotypes and consider the real arguements of real people.

Who says christians are a bunch of prudes that think having sex for fun is
sinful?  The Bible does teach that having sex outside marriage is sinful, but
it never says that sex is not to be enjoyed.  Does it?  Who made the sexual
parts sensitive anyway?  Get married and enjoy!  Who said sex is immoral?

The problem comes in when sex is abused.  It is the abuse of sex that is
wrong or immoral.  Pick your life partner wisely--choose one who has wisdom
and love and good character--one who you would want to be the other parent
of your children.  Then enjoy.  Play around before marriage, and you may be
haunted with memories of past partners after marriage.  Or you may marry the
wrong person to cover a pregnancy.  Or you may murder your child to cover it.

The message of christianity concerning sex is not one of prudism but of
wisdom.  Listen to God.  He's got brains.  About infinity times the amount
of brains all the world combined has.  Why not listen?  Be smart.  Don't
spread AIDS.  Don't put too much hope in condoms unless, of course, yours
happen to be made of stainless steel because regular condoms break.

In these ongoing quarrels, I often hear mention made of fallen preachers.
I'd ask you if you criticize them for practicing what is in the Bible or for
*not* practicing what is in the Bible.  If your criticism is for saying one
thing and practicing another, then why should you use the name of a fallen
preacher to criticise one who is faithful or a lay person who is faithful?

What are your grounds for criticism?  I know that this message is going to
catch some flames, but once in awhile I feel the urge to appeal to the minds
of young people who may be interested in turning aside from these silly flame
wars and talking about things as they are in real life.

The issue of abortion is a sensitive one, and the reason that christians
would often prefer to prohibit abortion is not to prevent sex but to prevent
what is considered to be murder.  Frequently, family-values groups are shown
to be preventing the communication of sex education in the classroom in a
rather prudish manner.  But I doubt reality presents this as much as it does
the concerned christian who cares about the wrongful manner in which sexuality
is treated in the classroom--one that displays sex as a rite of passage where
one becomes impassioned, screws, and then throws away the relationship the
moment where passion leaves and the couple is no longer in love.  This "normal"
behaviour is to be repeated by all "normal", "healthy" teens and adults with
little or no consequence as long as proper procedures are followed.  Abortion
is something that is considered to be preventing a baby from coming into
existence--something done if all other birth control methods fail.

All this sounds good to a point--and that point is the point of reaching
reality.  Sex is dangerous outside monogamous relationships.  It is not healthy
psychologically since it forms unhealthy expectations, unhealthy relationships,
passes diseases, causes unexpected pregnancies, leads to abusive relationships
where one partner demands more than another would prefer to give, etc.  And,
once you come to the point of having your own baby, as my wife and I just did,
it is hard to hold your daughter in your arms and look into her lovely eyes,
and realize that just a few days beforehand, it would have been legal to kill
her in cold blood!

Let's be real.  You don't want your parents to have the slightest choice in
whom you marry let alone whether you should live or die.  What makes you think
that you have the right over the life and death of your child?

Furthermore, if the right to know and the freedom of the press is so precious,
then why is it that so many so-called freedom fighters work so hard to hurt
those who would show the people the truth about abortion on T.V.?  Politicians
in recent elections have used their freedom during their campaigns to show
products of late and early term abortions on T.V. making us aware of the truth
regarding abortion.  Why fight them?  Why not let them show us the truth?  For
goodness sakes, what in the world are we afraid of?  That our votes might be
based on reality and truth?  What horror!  What terrible things might happen
if the truth might be known!  What horror if real love, real christianity were
known by the public!  What a miserable situation we would endure were we to
know that we were really created by a loving God who cries over the millions
that we are killing each year!  What misery should be cast upon the human race
should all join hands in love and prayer!  Oh, how pitiful we are!  Oh what
wretched folks are those who would that more go to heaven!  Oh what slime are
those who would sacrifice themselves for the good of their neighbor!  Oh what
scum are those who would truely live the lives only spoken of by the hipocrite!

People, when will America become America, and when will we stop repenting of
our rights and standing up for our wrongs?  When will America once again become
worthy of the lives sacrificed to protect it and bring it into being?  When
will we as a nation stop screeching for our selfish self gratification and
once again sacrifice of ourselves to make this nation and this world a better
place for all?  Must we live to prove the justice and love of God in sending
us to hell?  Or will we start living to show His love in providing for us a
heaven?

I pray for the day that revival will break out--a day when people's spirits
will live--a day where spiritual hunger will be more prevalent than physical
hunger--a day where the presence of God would be so widely felt that nobody
would dare to mock or treat another injustly.  A day when truth will replace
believability--when benevolence will replace selfishness--when life will be
valued and not purged--when wisdom reigns over foolishness--when the arrogant
will be brought low and the meek inherit the earth--when straw men vanish and
each person's soul and spirit appear naked before the Son of the Living God
to answer--when the sheep will be separated from the goats--the tares from
the wheat--when the horse and rider are cast into the sea and the demons in
hell cry out in misery never to be free again to touch the lives of the
faithful--a day when the tears of the faithful will be wiped away from their
eyes--a day of relief and rejoicing--a day when we will finally see the little
ones unjustly killed--the prophets of God who have been slain--the martyrs
for whom we have great respect who have not died in vain.

If we turn and kill our own children, how will we face them in eternity?
And yet, how can we go to hell and abandon them for all eternity knowing
that they would cry tears for our forgiveness?  People, our land needs healing.

I know many hate the Bible and all that they think christianity stands for, but
we really need it's healing power to heal our land.  I pray that each person
reading this will somehow understand even if you don't agree with all I've
said, and will take the time to consider whether there is anything of value in
what I've said here.  America needs a great healing that will only come through
prayer--not only the brief prayer said at dinner time, but real, deep, pleading
and seeking and longing and tearful prayer--prayer for forgiveness--prayer for
wisdom--prayer for healing--prayer for courage, love, and strength to continue
sharing with and praying for others--prayer that touches God.
