  44. Look at the shambles that the Conservatives have made of our industrial
  45. system
  46. over the last decade. They've all but massacred our coal industry,
  47. manufacturing industry, steel etc... Unemployment went through the roof in
  48. the early eighties and never quite recovered, and indeed is on it's way up
  49. again. We are in the deepest and longest recession since the thirties 
  50. depression and homelessness seems to be a permanent feature of our cities.
  51. All this after thirteen years of Thatcher/Reagan style conservatism.
