  27. Maybe. However the Global Warming Report was not actually researched by
  28. Greenpeace. It was commissioned by Greenpeace, and several scientists were
  29. asked to write sections in the report. The introduction, and the final
  30. chapter are written by Jeremy Legget the UK Scientific Director of
  31. Greenpeace. The section in the science of global warming was written by
  32. Stephen Schneider and draws mainly on the IPCC report on global warming,
  33. in short this is based on work already done and widely accepted in the
  34. field. Amory Lovins gave his expertise on energy matters
  35. to the writing energy efficiency essay. I have seen his research in many 
  36. publications and have seen it confirmed independently by other people
  37. in other publications. I have no reason to doubt that the figures he
  38. gives are untrue. Most of the research in this report, is stuff that
  39. I've seen time and again in other reports from other organisations.The
  40. sources given do not seem to be biased towards environmentalist groups, 
  41. and is very wide ranging and comprehensive. Each chapter gets around
  42. 70 odd references, many of which give multiple sources for their data.
  43. In short, this book at least provides credible sources for the data, and
  44. draws and the expertise of many scientists who are experts in their 
  45. fields. The pinch of salt is not really needed.
