- Ok, someone mail me the FAQ section on places to dive in Hawaii -- I'll be
- spending about 10 days at the end of Feb in Oahu and have never been there
- before. Unfortunately my friends there don't dive so they've been no help in
- preparing my trip.
-
- What I would like would be, either a mid-week boat dive (1 day) or overnighter.
- I've heard Kona on the Big island would be cool and then I could also see the
- volcano but would I have to worry about the flight altitudes of the
- inter-island hoppers?
-
- Also for those of you who travel lots (I don't) I plan on bringing my dive
- computer in my carry-on and packing my knife, regulator (hoses detatched),
- mask, snorkle, fins, and booties. -- should I bring my own BC? and what about my
- light? I was also thinking about buying one of those (mail-order cheap) lycra
- suits just for general skin protection but maybe I'd be better off renting a
- light wet-suit.
-
- I normally dive here where it's (relativly) cold (Seattle,WA) so should I
- invest in a pair of light, warm water gloves? or maybe just buy them there? (no
- I don't plan on coral raking, just don't want to pick up lots of scratches
- etc).
