- I was looking closely at an SKS the other day and wonder how the
- designer intended the cleaning rod to be used. It's too short to go all the way
- through the barrel, but has screw threads on one end, as if it was
- supposed to be attached to another device/rod (perhaps a separate piece of
- field gear?) to make a full-length cleaning tool.

- Does anybody know how a soldier in the field made any good use of this
- apparently too-short rod?
