  22. The only "new" Mustang that you will see this year is the Cobra Mustang.
  23. This car has some engine and suspension enhancements over the regular
  24. Mustang GTs, and is in general a better performing car.  However, it
  25. has also been wrung out by the car rag journalists, whose aggregate
  26. contention is that it is not quite as good as the new offerings from
  27. GM: the new Camaro and Firebirds.  Shockingly, the Mustang Cobra cost
  28. as much as, or more than the GM cars.

  30. The real new Mustang will debut in October of this year.  It will be
  31. completely redesigned with new suspensions, brakes, body styling, and
  32. possibly new engines.  The one to wait for would be the GT version with
  33. an all-aluminum DOHC V8 engine.  There's even a rumored super high
  34. performance car with a supercharged engine that puts out close to 500 hp.
  35. Unfortunately, it will also retain some features that will prevent it
  36. from being an ultimate performer, such as its hokey "modified MacPherson
  37. strut" front suspension.  But I digress.
