- Kim,
- Yup....you got it....It's called the "No-Dicker-Sticker" concept, and
- Saturn has done it well. Of course, it seems from your point of view that
- you are disappointed that they don't negoctiate the price. Trust me, Saturn
- makes the car-buying experience a much more pleasant episode. They treated
- me much better than the nearby Honda dealer who wouldn't even begin to
- quote a price or negotiate until we COMMITTED to buying a car. That to me
- was harrassing and brash. (While Hondas are great cars, the fact that they
- are such good machines makes some dealers push the customer around because
- they know the car will sell - I've heard of other Honda dealers that have
- also treated their customers the same; Please note that not all Honda dealers
- act this way, as this was an isolated incident).
-
- The folks at Saturn simply let the car sell itself, and since the prices
- are so low already, sticker-haggling is meaningless and unneccessary. You
- can probably pick up a well-equipped Saturn SL for around $10,000 (base price
- is $9195). I'm almost sure you'll be happy with both the dealer and the car.
