- I purchased mine in Yonkers NY (10mi North of NYC) for $1,120 with
- a 5 year extended warranty. They 'beat' J&Rs price and threw in the
- warranty to boot.
-
- A few comments....
- 1. I am delighted with the unit as an integrated A/V preamp/amp. It
- organizes everything on 1 remote, etc, etc.
-
- 2. The main amp is not the best, but ok...I now run my main 2 speakers
- with my Harmon K. Citation 19. Vastly better sound.
-
- 3. There is a difference between using the A1000s preamp, and no preamp
- that shows itself in a wider higher soundstage. This difference however does
- net out when you consider the added convenience offered.
-
- 4. The sub out is 200hz (unknown rolloff)...This is WAY WAY WAY too high.
- The output level on this is also WAY WAY WAY too low. I have to use this
- in conjunction with an old Hafler preamp to boost the signal before
- reaching a Phase Linear 400 that I use as the sub amp (good sensativity...
- the problem is definately the Yamaha). Then I use a passive xover to give
- me a 12db rolloff at 60 Hz.
