- In regards to the Theil CS2.2's (it is spelled Theil, by the way) I
- listened to them extensively when I purchased speakers about a year ago.
- The CS2.2's are amongst the top five speakers of all of those I have
- ever heard (others include the Theil SCS's (which I purchased) and both
- the Wilson products) The dynamic range was astounding. Theil's are
- famous for absolutely transparent midrange and fantastic imaging, and
- the CS2.2's add quite a bit of base extension to this. I listened to
- them set up very carefully in a dedicated listening room driven by a
- pair of Audio Research 120 monoblocks getting its source from a Krell cd
- player, Theta Pro Gen III d/a converter all through a AR LS 2 pre-amp.
- (not my usual system :^( They absolutely blew me away, if I could have
- fit them in my room correctly, I would have walked out with them.
-
- In the end, my pick would obviously be th 2.2's, but any of the
- loudspeakers will do a fine job of musical repoduction. You might also,
- if you have the room and are not a bass freak, look at the Martin Logan
- Sequel II's. By far the best midrange and treble I have heard for under
- ten grand.
