  13. Dear colleagues,
  14.  
  15.      As an integral part of our university teaching training, we are 
  16. conducting a survey of the ways by which students are evaluated at various 
  17. educational centers around the world. 
  18. The results of this survey will be presented in June 1993 at the university 
  19. of Grenoble.
  20.   
  21. 1- The goal of  this survey
  22.  
  23.      The goal of this survey is to examine the various methods of evaluation 
  24. used in different countries. This survey does not focus on a particular 
  25. domain but it is nevertheless more concerned with courses taken place during
  26. the first or second year of university study. (One course per questionnaire.)
  27.  
  28.      This survey can be completed by either teachers or students.
  29.  
  30. 2- The content of this survey
  31.  
  32.      The questionnaire is comprised of four main sections. The first three 
  33. sections involve a set of questions with predefined answers, i.e. the 
  34. different types of answers have the format: 
  35.     choice  [ ]: to be marked by 'X' for a positive answer
  36.     (       )      :  to be filled by the answer  (optional answer).

  38.      The first section is concerned with the level of the chosen course.
  39.      
  40.      The second section is concerned with the chosen course itself.
  41.  
  42.      The third section is concerned with the marking system of the chosen 
  43. course. 
  44.  
  45.      The last section is an open one, in which you may wish to make further
  46. comments.
