- My fiancee purchased the Sony TR-101 for me for Christmas. This model has
- a different form of image stabilization that uses prizms to change the
- direction of light hitting the CCD (Charge Coupled Device) as movements
- are made by the camera operator. From what I have read, this actually
- uses less camcorder power and the image is sharper because the electronics
- aren't doing pixel magic to make the image look less jerky. The Sony
- really does a great job! Now for the price. We got ours for $1449
- MSRP $1599. I have seen the same unit for ~$1100 in the video mail order
- magazines. Your mileage WILL vary.
